This shopping centre is housed a modern multi storey building in the centre of shaghai. Variety of products are available here for the shoppers to haggle and strike a bargain. The shop keepers are prepared for haggling and some do show annoyance when you bargain hard. Good thing is most can manage some English to communicate sufficiently. You can buy some good Chinese made products for good price here.

The name of the game is haggling...start with as low as 10% of the quoted price to get a good deal, regardless of the reactions (ranging from disbelief to mockery) you may evoke!

I used to go there like every second month to buy presents, things you need or things you think you'll need ;).

But there is one thing I REALLY recommend: buy your glasses, either proscription glasses or sunglasses at the market!
My favorite store is: Hellens optical
They really do a great job, with fair prices, excellent service and always honest.
Happy customers are their goal!
I met them five years ago and bought already more then 20 glasses for me or my mum back home.

As the whole market is going to be closed. They'll move to a new location at the Science and technology museum subway station (underground market)

Shop: D2 -12

I really recommend to go there if you look for a new pair of glasses either sunglasses or prescription. Sandy or Hellen have the right pair for you.

Go there and send them greetings from Chris.

This NanJing road market is now closed. You can try over in Pudong where the other fake market is at Science and Tech.
Remember it is all fun and fake.

This place, like most of place alike in China you MUST be careful on what you want to buy. You will find anything you like, especially copy of big brand names such as clothing, electronic, bags, luggage, software etc
Bare in mind that is FAKE! They will show you the trick of the lighter to identify "real leather", nut is a trick, Apple iPhone/iPad? there are million of copies, but none are not even close to fake, it look alike when turn on the device, even you can insert the Sim card to see if there is signal, and it does! Once you will be able to use it then you will realize that is unusable! Always whatever you buy, if you are really intended to waste money just for the fun of it ....is your call. DO not buy electronics!!!

First of all, I was told by our host in Shanghai and e locals not to shop there as they feel the stuff there are poorly made and over priced! Some even told me it is closed! We went there anyway. Yup, many shops are selling identical items, so you must bargain!! Priced at RMB 400 can go as low as RMB 250 and if your bargaining skill is good, you can get better deal!

The shops are selling mainly sports tee, bags, few shops for kids, make up etc. Is a place to go for budget hunters!

But bear in mind, good sold have no quality control, use at your own risk!!!

If you fancy fake & cheap stuff and enjoy bargaining, then this is a good place to visit. Otherwise wasting time, and same stuff in all the shops.
