The area
Address
Neighbourhood: People’s Square
People’s Square brings with it all the excitement you would expect from the town square of one of the biggest cities in the world. The area around People’s Square and People’s Park is always a abuzz with activity. Oceans of local and foreign tourists flow in and out of the area every day to see grand museums, go shopping and eat at some of Shanghai’s most storied food centers. Shanghai residents, meanwhile, live and work in the many residential and office high-rises. While much of Shanghai stays busy late into the night, this really is an area that never sleeps with glitzy nightclubs keeping people up until the wee hours of the morning.

This is a nice park located in people's square. It is within walking distance from JW Marriott hotel.
Other than the fact that it is a beautiful garden tucked in the middle of the city, there is an interesting feature of this park. This is where parents will advertise the availability of their children using umbrellas. The background history and BIO data are written on paper and placed on top of an umbrella. Judging from the number of people who are walking around, they are serious about matchmaking through this means. This place is worth visiting, simply just to see this aspect.

In this Big park, where people meet and play, read or Think about life, or take a walk, there is a special expirience. A lot of seniors, sit with an umbrella, where you on a piece of paper Can read about The persons son or daughter. The father or mother tries to get The Young man or Girl married, by telling about The person on The paper. Age, hight, occupation etc. A kind of dating-site in Nature.....

A lovely place to take a stroll and take a rest from most of the crowds, noise and commerce that is Shanghai.

This is just. A great place! Well kept, the gardens are lovely, water ponds are stunning and at the weekend the place is taken over with parents and grandparents trying to find a new husband or wife for their daughters and some, just weird!

This is a very nice little park in the bustling city of Shanghai. Lots of interesting areas to explore in a fairly small park. The paths are quite meandering. There is a map at each of the entrances, which helps for navigation. When it was really hot, it was nice to sit down under the trees to cool down. Lots of bird life, and the usual goldfish and turtles in the lakes.

We walked through here to find a short cut to Nanjing pedestrian street. We saw heaps of umbrellas opened up in this park with writing on pieces of paper. I didn't know what was happening. I later found out that it's like a match making service. They had the age and height but I couldn't understand the rest. So I guess parents read then and try to find a match for their adult children.
Anyway the park is a relaxing quiet walk and I found 2 Starbucks and there's a Barossi restaurant .
