My husband and I were walking through downtown Montgomery on a self guided tour and we passed by this fountain. Luckily for us it wasn't too busy in the traffic circle that day. The fountain itself and the fence around a quite ornate and beautiful.

Charming fountain.... the water is dyed or the fountain is decorated throughout the year for holidays or to support breast cancer. Very historical area... near the slave trading square many years ago. Plaques around telling of historical events

A great fountain in the traffic circle, even though they do call it a square. It's a stately fountain and you can't miss it if you're roaming around downtown.

The fountain (or the square as we call it) is a focal point of down town , a historical gift that all Montgomerians grew up , see and driving around, from frozen water to Pink !

This fountain truly is a staple in downtown Montgomery. It's absolutely beautiful! They change the color of the water sometimes to match holidays and/or events. A must see!

What wasn't obvious from the other postings was that it is in a busy traffic circle. It is a very lovely fountain, but it is in busy area, and very heavily trafficked. Maybe early or late it would be better but midday it is really too busy to walk out to, or even find a close parking spot. Or at... More

Stop off here as it is the area where the slave auctions were held. It's a pretty fountain and there is an information board nearby.

Great opportunity to utilize the history of the city to explain the slow improvements in civil rights from slave auctions to Rosa Parks and the march from Selma to the state capital all in one location. I was surprised that the Historical markers were so straight forward and honest. Very sobering to know the sad state of human rights that... More

Very pretty and near many other historic markers. Located on a busy business district street, near the Alabama state Capitol.
