The fort looks great inside and out telling you somethings not right. On the tour you learn it's a partially rebuilt fort on not in the original location and to 4/5 scale. The guides are not as knowledgeable as they shout be for giving tour. We were told this is now owned by a company trying to make it a... More

Standing at the Church Street Entrance to the fort you are looking at Mobile's welcome mat. Mardi Gras park serves as the welcome may and it is surrounded by the representations of the mind, body and soul of Mobile. The History Museum of Mobile represents the mind, the fort represents protection of the body and Christ Church Episcopal Cathedral represents... More

The drumbeat of a Colonial Drummer standing at the front entrance door could be heard for blocks and that brought us to the gate of the fort. Others inside were dressed in Colonial costume. We stopped longest in a room with displays telling 300 years of history on the Gulf Coast. Many exhibits were filled with artifacts that could be... More

Entered the Museum through the little shop which was a great disappointment. No maps or books, very limited selection of colonial toys - primarily t-shirts and cheap plastic toys. But the museum itself was wonderful and David Bayne was wonderful and so knowledgeable about the fort and its history.

The fort is a replica of the original Fort Conde, but the replica is very well done with a great museum throughout. Visitors can walk within and atop the fort. The museum offers a chronological history and is spread through out the fort. There are some great photo opportunities/

A real fort within walking distance of port. Watch a re-enactment of guards shooting guns. Watch a historical movie. Many exhibits and beautiful historical photos.

The great volunteers here were fabulous. They treated us almost as family! The Fort is really interesting and it was great to see its very varied history. We only found it as it was the pick up point for a City Tour. Thanks, it was great.

My son & I stopped in here one afternoon - and they were near closing (early too like 4ish) and she couldn't be bothered by me asking about the tour bus/ trolley - but, had time to chit chat with other (worker?) person who came in after we did.... There needs to be someone here to explain what this Fort... More
