I was interested in seeing Fort Conde as part of my touring around Mobile and the bay area. I have to say of all the forts in the area this one can be given a miss. There is really not much to see in terms of the history of the fort and possible the best thing to do is take photos of the skyscrapers of Mobile.
To tour the fort you need to buy your tickets to both the fort and the history museum. I did not know this at first so arrived at Fort Conde first. I was told that I could tour the fort for free then buy my ticket at the museum which I found extremely odd. I did the honest thing and bought my tickets first but just ended up shaking my head throughout most of the time there.

We brought family and had a great time walking around, and asking questions of the staff dressed in 17-1800 attire. They gave us lots to ponder and think back on the forts history. We would recommend. We are interested in returning again and also waiting to see the opening of the time capsule in 2026

The Reproduction Fort Conde is a nice addition to the Mobile History Museum and included with the Museum ticket. Only takes about 45 min to do. Small exhibit of the history of the fort is interesting. Originally located across Church St in what is now Mardi Gras Park.

This hotel is truly exceptional. If you have an opportunity stay here. The area is unique and the staff is friendly and outstanding. But the breakfast is incredible. The menu selection includes a host of unique items. My favorite was the banana foster french toast. WOW
You won’t be disappointed if you choose this spot.

There is a lot of cool historical things on display here, but it's pretty basic. Kids and history lovers will like it for sure. Since it's a recreation (not their fault, obviously) it would have been cooler had it been the actual location, etc. But still a cool place. Check out the Mardi Gras park right next to it and inexpensive parking lot too.

Great way to get a snapshot of the historical area. Our driver was very friendly and offered lots of suggestions on what to see and what to eat and where.
And it's free!
After the short ride around the area on the trolley we went back.on our own to places we wanted to see again.

I grew up going to Fort Conde and I was anticipating going back to recall the history of Mobile. However, it was a total disappointment. There was little historical information. The artifacts appeared to clearly be fake. The escape room has no explanation. The arcade didn't work. We slowly walked around the Fort, which took 20 minutes to complete. The new ownership has driven the experience into the ground. Would not go if you've never been.

Have been to this fort many times in the past when there was no entry fee. Now one adult and two children cost $19.25. Definitely not worth it. A child is not interested in reading all the info. This is self guided. The consumed characters were no where to be seen. Also no military discount available.

Somehow they have managed to destroy the fascinating history of the old fort. What used to be a small but informative visit is now just an attempt to downplay the history and sell tickets to a little skating tinge and venture to have parties or pay to see Mardi Grad parades. It's valueless for historians as what displays are available are very artificial and lacking in detail and tell you to do research on the internet. One doesn't go to a museum to be told to do Goggle searches!
Mobile should be ashamed.

Something just seemed a little off as we were walking up to the fort. It looked new and I'm not sure if I read a sign right but I think it's just a replica. I didn't want to spend money to go inside in but my husband loves learning the history of things so he wanted to at least visit the museum. It turned out to be one of the worst museum I've seen. There was very little information with the exhibits and many of the artifacts looked new.
The only other things that are inside the fort is a photo booth, a trading post, a bar/grill, a restaurant, a shooting gallery and a breakout room (none of which we visited). It certainly wasn't worth the $16 it cost for us to get in. I would not recommend this place at all. Mobile is full of history so spend your money somewhere else.

It was 6 or 8 dollars, we are both 60, so I do not know the price for kids. We felt it was worth it and a great place to take pictures Robert
