At Mobile’s Battleship Memorial Park, you don’t have to look very far to find heroes. From the Battleship USS ALABAMA to the Submarine USS DRUM and over 25 aircraft, the spirit of military pride is alive and well.Aboard the battleship you will be able to explore 12 decks. Among those, you can climb inside gun turrets, get locked in the Brig, man a 12mm gun and much more. Also at the park, you will be able to go below and explore inside the oldest Submarine on display, Submarine USS DRUM. In the Medal of Honor Aircraft Pavilion as well as in the park, you will be able to view many rare and historic aircraft. A few in our collection include: A-12 Blackbird Spy Plane, OS2U Kingfisher, F-86L Sabre Jet, B-52 Bomber, just to name a few. While in the pavilion, don’t forget to take a ride on the Flight Simulator and experience flight without ever leaving the ground. It’s an unforgettable experience for the entire family. Recently on a family trip stopped by the USS Alabama Memorial. It was a great experience for me and my family. Was a fascinating tour which was well marked and easy to follow. My Grandchildren had the opportunity to see how are military live on the ships and came out with a deep respect for our armed services. The grounds... More

We visited the ship during a navy veterans reunion. We had a great time. There are self guided tour routes that give a fabulous understanding of life aboard a warship. Requires a lot of walking and climbing ladders. An amazing museum. There are other exhibits on the grounds as well. Plan on spending a full day here.

Awesome! We visited the battleship on a Tuesday and made sure we got there about 10am. Start this tour in the morning because the hotter it gets, the hotter it is going inside this ship. We went down about 3 levels and up about 4. This was a great walking tour to take. After you get done, you can walk... More

Fascinating experience to see what our WWII sailors experienced. A lot of nooks and crannies on the ship. You can spend quite a long time if you attempt to see everything. The USS Drum submarine and indoor museum components were also worth while. I'm glad I visited.

My party of 4 stopped in just to see what it was about and was very pleasantly surprised. It is definitely a fun and entertaining experience. The park is self guided so you can go at your own pace. Would recommend anyone making a visit here.

We stopped here today and what a place! We enjoyed the entire experience but we didn't leave enough time. We only had 2 hours and it wasn't enough.

Wide open self guided tour of the battleship, access inside the BIG guns, and pretty much all over. But wait, there's more. A complete air museum with Desert Storm fighter pilot videos and aircraft. An SR-71 that flew reconnaissance over the USS Pueblo. But wait, there's more. The SS Drum WWII submarine to also climb all over - complete with... More

They have a downloadable app to allow you to do self guided tour. If they had a good handout or more thorough postings aboard ship, it would have been more helpful. Still, it was a magnificent ship, maintained in top shape and a must see for all. The cost is more than reasonable. Go early and do the sub first.... More

We only paid $2 for the car parking and didn't actually go on the ship and submarine as we both have bad knees. The park was still interesting though with loads of WWII vehicles to see - planes, tanks, helicopters, boats and the big ship and submarine to see from the outside. I think the entrance price was $15 per... More

Visited here on 05/12. We toured the USS Alabama, USS Drum, Aviation Pavilion, the Vietnam and Korean War memorials. There are also numerous static displays of aircraft and military vehicles. This museum allows you to enter the 16" inch guns and go into the loading room, they also allow you to go into a dual 5" gun mount. The Alabama... More
