One of the must-see if you are first time in Malacca. Rich history - Portuguese and Dutch rule. Museum is average. The museum on the ship nearby is more interesting. Take the 'colourful trishaw' ride (fee applies) if you want to rest your feet.

The museum is housed in a historical building, exhibits were fine. Unfortunately, the pop music blaring from the stupid rickshaws outside could be heard in the museum, spoiling the atmosphere. Also, government propaganda songs were being played on the loudspeakers inside the museum. Turn it...More

Stadthuys - The Red Building and the Red Square actually epitomizes Melaka. It has always stood out for me as very Malaccian. A Dutch word meaning 'City Hall' shows that Malacca was a city way before KL and Singapore came of age. Christ Church frames...More

This is really the town hall as it was called by the Dutch when they were in Malacca. It is also referred to the Square it's self we're all the red buildings are.

A fascinating museum full of interesting information about Melaka. Well presented and well maintained. Make sure that you leave plenty of time to see it as it's a lot bigger then it looks. A must for any visitor to the city.

Always nice to see historical place. Parking always been an issue but we manage to get a space. It would be better if the government just close the road from cars.

Stretching "the whole length" along the east side of the Dutch Square (Malacca's "number-one" tourist site), this long building also has a long history behind it since it was the municipal building or the city hall (so the name 'stadthuys' in Dutch) of the Dutch...More

After taking your lunch upon reaching Melaka, I suggest you take the river cruise first near the Stadhuys. Then you take a short taxi ride to Masjid Selat Melaka. After that, you can drop by Menara Taming Sari. A short walk... More
