    Palolem Beach
Palolem Beach is ideal for families and friends to enjoy together. The beach offers beautiful landscapes, with hills on one side and the sea on the other. There's a mangrove backwater where boating is possible. It's about a 2-hour drive from Panjim and easily accessible by road. There's ample parking space available for moderate crowds. The beach area has a variety of general stores and restaurants where visitors can find food and other essentials. A fully-fledged market is located nearby, providing additional shopping opportunities. There are special boat rides, to Butterfly Island, Honeymoon Beach, and Turtle Rock from here. either by booking a private ride or sharing with others. These rides provide the opportunity to see seagulls, and dolphins (morning ride) and explore the mangrove areas. The beach offers kayaking, boating and options for water activities.

Relax, eat, drink & have a great time
Lovely soft sandy beach. Not too much hassle & safe bathing. Relax at one of the restaurants, use their loungers with umbrellas & towels. Just buy a drink/lunch & they will look after you. More peaceful than northern Goa. Fab food available too

One of the most beautiful Beaches in south goa
We spent a day here, reached in afternoon, did kayaking and boating and enjoyed beautiful sunset. Food and live music at most shacks was awesome. Perfect place for a family dinner. Very photogenic beach.

Amazing beach break to relax and eat good food.
Wow! We chose Palolem as our destination to spend Christmas, and were not disappointed! The beach is loooong, with beautiful soft sand, and gentle waves that make for great swimming and kayaking. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes all along the beach, serving a great variety of food. Everything we ate was superb. There are also rooftop yoga sessions available from a couple of places. All in all, an incredible place to relax for a week.

    A white sandy pristine beach
Calm and serene beach. Gets a bit busier during the day. Plenty of stay options on the beach huts as well as nearby. The beach comes alive after sunset as the numerous beach bars setup tables and tiny lamps or candles giving the whole area a surreal look

A lot going on here, two nights was enough
We spent two nights here staying in the Magic World beach huts at the back of the beach, from 19th and 21st March. This crescent shaped beach with it's golden sand stretches along the coast for roughly a mile. It has Kankon Island (Canacona Island) at one end and Viewpoint at the other and a mountainous background. The back of the beach is lined with bars, restaurants and holiday accommodation, mainly beach huts and shops. The bars and restaurants do provide sunbeds and umbrellas for their guests. These are replaced in the evenings with tables and chairs where guests can sit with a beer and watch the sunset or have dinner during the evening. Which we did on both nights during our stay. On day one of our stay we walked the beach Kankon Island (Canacona Island). While walking along the beach we organised our Backwater Boat trip. This turned out to be an amazing experience and reviewed separately. We spent most of the next day relaxing on the beach but in the early after we walked the short distance in the other direction to the Viewpoint. A makeshift kiosk houses the Palolem Boat Owners Association, where boat trips and tours can be organised. It is located where Palolem Beach Road stops and a few metres on to the beach. Having said all that we organised our trip with a guy who approached us on the Beach. Also along the beach were a vast number of small boats, predominantly tour boats as well as fishing boats. There were also kayaks, paddle boats and other watersports activities lined up on the beach. Beach sellers were walking up and down the beach selling their goods, they were no trouble, we just said no thanks and they walked away. There were also several places offering massages.

    Most popular South Goan Beach...
South Goa is not much explored which is quite evident from its quiet and serene beaches except Palolem. Palolem I would say is the most popular beach in South Goa. Those looking for peace yet happening place in South Goa then this is the beach to be. There are two ways to reach Palolem. Once you hire a vehicle just take the beach route (not the main highway) as it is more green, passes through villages, different other beaches enroute. Budget food lovers (apart from endless costly food options)- 1) If one likes coconut based gravy, then pao bhaji is a must try dish in Goa (Highly recommended) unlike other places in India, it's totally different and pocket friendly light breakfast to start with. 2) In the evening just opposite BURGstation (as soon as you enter Palolem) there is a big open space selling some Goan dishes and Chat shops. 3) Rian restaurant - for non veg sea food

Good beach to walk along but many people and shops making it very touristic...
Palolem beach is a very nice place in Goa to visit but crowded and with a lot of mouvements of people, boats and in the shops all around the place. It is nice to walk from one end to the other of the beach, and if walking on the north side of the beach, you will see nice big stones and little river with small boats trips possibilities. One local guy was obviously following us for a long time, at a distance, we were intrigated about his behaviour, but we understood that he tried to sell us his trip with his boat, knowing that there were only a few interested tourists but a lot of boats... The sun can be very hot if walking close to the restaurants, but all ok if along the sea. Be aware of the numerous dogs walking and living on their own there, some of them can start to follow you everywhere, in order to receive some food from you ! Don't touch them, as they are not very clean and can become agressive as we saw. I put some photos of the place, you can also see cows there !
