A 5* experience with Mac Tailor! I had seen the most stunning suit that I wanted but could not find any of the shops so reached out to see if I could have it custom made and only in a few days - my dream suit was ready!
He is responsive and attentive to detail; the linings of the jackets are superb as well! Great materials are available. Loving these new outfits... and all at a very reasonable price!!

I had the pleasure of meeting Mac a number of years ago whilst on holiday in Goa. At this time he made me a number of bespoke suits and shirts. Since then I have used Mac on numerous occasions and he has always been without fault, from silk monogrammed pyjamas, winter coats, bespoke dinner suit, silk blouses for my family members to cashmere and silk dressing gowns. Nothings ever been too much trouble, Mac is always so helpful and ships to me in the U.K. The best tailor

I had wanted a new suit for a while and had looked at off-the-peg suits on the highstreet at home. But I had not really found what I wanted. Either the style of the suit or the material was not quite right or the price was a bit more than I was prepared to pay. Then after booking a holiday in Goa I thought perhaps I could have a suit made to measure by an Indian tailor whilst on holiday. So on searching Google and TripAdvisor one name seemed to be coming up time and time again ‘Mr Mac’. Now as luck would have it I had actually booked to stay in Calangute and Mr Mac has his shop at the Nizmar Resort, Calangute. So I popped in.
Mr Mac was really helpful in showing me a vast array of material samples until I found one that I liked and then I could choose the individual style elements of the suit. Would I like two buttons or three? Would I like a classic collar? How many buttons would I like on the cuffs? Would I like silk lining? What colour lining? Fully lined trousers or three quarter lined trousers? What style of pockets would I like? He even has catalogues from UK designers to help you to decide what you wanted . It was fantastic a real experience. Then I was measured and asked to return four days later for a fitting and then I picked the finished suit up, and two made to measure shirts, four days after that. Mr Mac even gave me some cuff links and a suit cover.
Now all this was for the same or less that I would have paid in the UK for an off-the-peg suit. But the finish and detailing is fantastic. The fabric is much better, it’s fully silk lined and it makes you feel absolutely great because it’s made to measure.
As you can tell I’m chuffed to bit’s with the suit and the whole experience was just great. Treat yourself...

We went to Mac Tailors at the recommendation of the Neelham hotel. We were not disappointed.
From start to finish, this guys made us feel special and could not do enough for our whole party whilst we were there. Lots of cloth to chose from and many fashion books to look at to help us arrive at a style we wanted.
I had 5 shirts (plus one extra for free), 1 x suit and a blazer custom made for me.
I chose the shirt materials, the linings for the double cuffs and collar linings and the rest was left to Mac. The finish of the shirts were beyond belief. I paid £25 per shirt and got one extra for free, so 6 shirts in total.
I had a two pce suit made in an expensive cloth and the same design and cut as a Boss suit from his many designer catalogues that's available to browse through. The linings for the jacket and trousers were stunning and the stitching was simply immaculate and perfection beyond belief.
The Blazer was a double breasted style, with stunning red lining and shaped the way I required. Every detail was considered. So the blazer can be worn with the sleeve buttons undone or formally fastened. Even the blazer buttons were to my liking and as they did not have the type I actually wanted (tarnished vintage style military), they went out and sourced them for me at no extra cost.
I got fitted for a single shirt on day 3 along with the first fitting for the suit and blazer, and followed by some minor alterations on the suit on day 5.
I honestly have to say that the shirts were better finished that the ones I got made in Hong Kong and elsewhere in Asia. The comfort I find in wearing the shirts is due to getting measured correctly across so many parts of the upper body rather than the normal 4 points.
Each shirt collar and cuff lining was matched to the shirt color and buttons and thread colour.
When you are in Goa, don't miss out on the opportunity to visit the best tailor in India.

I have had many items made in Goa by several diferent tailors, the best one by far is Mac in the Nizma resort Calangute. I have had a leather jacke,and 4 lovely shirts made by Mac, they all fit superbly & the quality of the materials is excellent. His leather shoes are really good also, I have bought 3 pairs. Other nice accessories that he sells are belts, ties, cufflinks etc. Alot of his customers are repeat guests and it is quite interesting to see some of his customers walk in with a pair of shorts & t-shirt on, go into the changing room & come out wearing a beautiful suit, shirt ties & shoes... the full monty & what a transformation. He also does ladies tailoring & they also look very elegant. It sums it up really when we return to the UK & I go out wearing items purchased from Mac. Total strangers come up & ask you where did you get the shoes from or where did you get that shirt from. Many thanks Mac, see you next season

As two professionals we are keen on good quality items and value for money. After reading reviews on here, we decided to visit Mr Mac's tailors.
If you're after a suit/dress/shoes custom made, this is the only place to consider. There are lots of tailors in Goa, they just do not compare.
We got my fiance's morning suit custom made. We took along a picture, picked out THE finest material (lots to choose from) and got measured.
We then visited a few days later for a fit, the item was practically made but then pinned for final snug fit. We came back again the following day and the suit was ready. It simply is beautiful. The service is excellent, and I was particularly nervous about trusting Mac with such an important thing! But there was no need to worry.
For a fully lined pair of pants, a lined fitted waistcoat and lined morning jacket made to the perfect fit we paid £190.
Although I know Mac does suits from £80 to £350ish depending on material chosen.
The hardest part was finding him! He has a shop based in the Nizmar Resort (hotel) on the Calangute - Candolim Road close to the Lacoste shop. If you ask a taxi driver to take you, they sometimes take you to other tailors who call themselves Mac to get a cut of profits so beware!

I have given Mac two opportunities to respond to the email I sent below, giving him the chance to reply before I decided whether to post a negative review. The email is self explanatory and is why I am making people aware that despite the many good reviews, Mac is actually as not as honest as he would like to make his clients believe.
His tailors may do a good job but if you have 'the front of house' being deceptive, it will eventually bring you down....

Further to our return from Goa after an extended stay because of the lockdown, I feel compelled to write to you in person before I post a Google or TripAdvisor review of my disappointment, thus giving you a chance to respond.
My wife and I visited you in mid March with a view to utilize your services to make her a suit.
Whilst in your shop, you set about showing us fabrics which my wife might be interested in, one in particular took her fancy and you engaged with a sales pitch stating that this was a brand new designer fabric only just come out.
You gave a costing and we left for consideration with a doubting of what you stated regarding the 'expensive designer fabric'.
The following day, we visited another Goan tailor who had EXACTLY the same fabric with no lies of it being designer or new out.
His costing was a fraction of yours and he subsequently got the work.
I feel very saddened that you chose to lie to us so you could make more money from the fabric than you otherwise should have. To create a distrust at an initial meeting is certainly not good business and my wife (being in the fabric industry herself) picked up on your dishonesty straight away.
Deeply saddened that a tailor whom I thought I could trust turned out to be deceptive.
I welcome your reply with interest as someone whom I had held with high regard until my visit in March.

We visited mac doulani on recommendations from trip advisor and we certainly weren't disappointed. Lovely people so welcoming also best tea in India. The suit we had made for our wedding well gobsmacked attention to detail and fitting was fab. And I had a dress made for a party which is lovely and great take on the picture I provided. We will send you pictures of us in then in the occasions :) thanks mac.. Emma and Fraser

I went to Mac's with my family as I wanted a tailor made suit and he came highly recommended by my godparents. I can't tell you how professional this man is, there is so much to choose from and the suit I bought fits perfectly. It feels amazing and it's all for an amazing price, there is no better tailor in Goa or India for that matter. My godparent had his suit made over ten years ago and it's the best suit he's ever had, still looks impeccable and as good as the day he bought it. I bought one suit, three shirts, two pairs of shoes, one belt, a set of cuff links, two overcoats, two ties and I walked away feeling like I had robbed the man!! The only problem with Mac's is I bought soo much I had to go buy another suit case to get it all home! He is a little more expensive than the other tailors but there is no point going to them if you want quality that will last and can have the best for a little bit more. THANK YOU SOO MUCH MAC. We travelled to Goa for Christmas/New Year we had seen all the reviews for Mac on TA and decided he was the man to make the three matching suits needed for myself, the best man and my stepson for our wedding in March. The measurements for my stepson we took with us, when we got back and he tried it on, it fit perfectly. We were staying in south goa so it was quite a long way to travel to Mac's, we were not disappointed, they look superb, the quality of the cut and the material is brilliant. We also had three shirts made. Mac even travelled to our hotel for the first fitting so that we didn't have to make the journey 3 times over to calungute as it was very busy on the roads at christmas. He is warm, friendly with a great sense of humour and clearly knows his stuff on what fit suits your size/build etc., we would highly recommend him to anyone, there are very many tailors in goa but only one Mac Doulani.

It all depends on the type of material you choose, whether it is silk lined etc.
Pay Mac a visit and have a chat, you won't be disappointed, I'm still wearing a suit I had made in 2009.

I am not sure about the cost. All I can tell you is thatMAC charges are much less than anywhere for the same material, and same detailed sticking. His people can get the first fitting done in less than 2 days

Mac's shop is in the lane leading to the Bloom Suites Hotel (formerly the Nizmar Resort).
It's past St Anthony's Chapel, past The Sportsman, past the Benetton shop.
