The fun that can be had on the banks of this sea is nowhere else, in this sea you will get everything, peace, tranquility as well as entertainment. Those views of uncle getting massage on the sand dunes 😂and the sunset give a different feeling of joy in this sea. can never forget the sea..

Really not what I expected here. This beach is so dirty and unclean. Could be such a nice area if managed properly. Would avoid this beach until cleaned up

Nice place to visit at sunrise and Sunset. The beach has a smooth walking surface so one can easily roam around. Sand is also soft so worth visiting in the morning and evenings.

One of the most lively beaches of Goa and also famous for nightlife and shacks.
Charming environment when you roam around the place in evening.

One of the most famous and also the most crowded beaches of North Goa. We went there on Sunday, that is why there was too much of a crowd, even then the beach was clean.

Good place with a lot of water sports activities. Watch out for the authorised stalls for the correct pricing as many water sports agent may just overcharge you.
Bargaining is a must if at all you take any water sports directly from them. The official rate for 5 water sports is Rs. 1850 as on April 2023. These guys will tell you things like that they will do extra water dips or something like that but they don't do it even if you pay.
Banana ride should be discussed before as these guys try to attempt only 2 times to take the banana inflate in water and if it falls then they will not take you further.

The beach shacks were very good. Staff friendly. The problem with this beach is groups of drunk men. We witnessed people nearly fighting, bottles being smashed, friends trying to get other friends from rolling into the sea drunk. Men passed out on the beach. Not as bad as Baga beach but not far behind. Groups of men would crowd us wanting a selfie with us, it got so bad the lifeguard in the jeep had to use the megaphone to chase them away down the beach and told everyone not to harass the tourists. This beach so badly needs a clean and I was just so disappointed at the people constantly littering and spitting.

Full of fraudsters and uninviting crowd. We could only stay here for 5 mins. It's sad, since beer is cheap here, you will find lots of people drinking on the beach during day time. Worth giving a miss

The place is good and well.maintained as per the other beaches
Thugs all around the places and they cheat you with the names of water sports , saying it's all government rate and later whatever is been promised is not lived upto
Sad but the fact and one should ask WHOM ???
All are part of the same gang or group ....
You are spoiling the image of Goa and over a period of time people will stop doing such activities in this place
We came back after years as we use to live in Goa and it was nostalgic for us , however , not very pleasant as we have seen the other side of Goa too 10 years ago.
Someone need to monitor it and keep a check on this so that tourism can continue and Goa remain Goa ....

Hi, I've heard a lot about the fact, that most of the beaches in GOA are extremely dirty, with broken glass and litter everywhere, as people drink heavily there and its not safe also.
That bad opinions impacted seriously GOA in terms of tourists numbers (both domestic! And international), which declined seriously.
BUT in 2019 - at the end, special agency started to work and maintain clearance of beaches in order to improve GOA picture and react on serious tourists drop. (Karnataka Commercial and Industrial Pvt Ltd)
SO - WHAT is the situation in GOA now? Can you guys, who visited that part of India in Dec 2019, Jan, Feb 2020 tell me and share your experience?
I know its India, no doubt, but is it really so dirty as even official agencies admit it as real problem?

Hi.We stayed in Calangute in Dec'19.I didn't come across any broken glass etc on the beach. Calangute Candolim were very clean. Yes you do come across empty bottles etc. On the path from hotel to the beach. So do wear your slippers.

Sorry, I’ve only just seen this question.
I can recommend Somy Resort hotel. It’s very well located and is being modernised. The room we had was super with good air con, and a lovely bathroom (You definitely wouldn’t want one of the older rooms).
We loved Calangute beach but were told to steer clear of Bagga?
India is a bit of a culture shock though.

Taxi is quite expensive. Best of journey.

hi, suggest you to go to Morjim Beach or Querim beach which are very peaceful beaches. beautiful location with ample space for sun basking. Calangute and baga beaches shall be too much crowded. you can hire car on rent which will cost Rs 1200 to 1500 per day for small family car. all the best and happy holidaying in GOA.
