Underrated beach - not too much crowd
Candolim beach is a beach like any other beach in North Goa but has far less crowd that nearby beaches like the Baga beach. There are no shacks here. But the way to the beach is lined with many shops to buy beachwear and other items. Overall neat beach with a watch house to ensure safety in peak tide. There are many good bars and restaurants nearby.

    Crowded beach
Too much of crown and dirty beach. Due to lot of beach activities going on this beach lot of tourist flock here and leave the rubbish. There is very less space between the sunbeds and actual beach.

Candolim, Goa…been twice, can’t wait to go back!
Candolim is about an hour drive from Goa airport, taxi £25 tops. Candolim is a busy tourist area with the best beach and caters for the British tourists extremely well. This was our second visit to Candolim, our last was Feb 2020, this time we came over Christmas. The difference is that it is busier with Indian tourists coming to Goa to celebrate. Don’t be worried, it’s a great experience, really busy yet utterly safe. The main road has an immense amount of restaurants, the beach has the Shacks, these are large restaurants that are put up at the beginning and taken down at the end of the season. This year they were late going up and weren’t ready until December. Apparently the licenses from the government were late in being issued. Cost to eat and drink…you can do this very cheaply, about £25 per head per day is ample. Kingfisher beer £1 a bottle. Lemon pancake for breakfast £1.20 Gin and tonic £2.20 including can of Schweppes mixer. Steak and chips £5.50 Spaghetti carbonara £4.50 You get the gist!! We stayed at the Seashell Hotel, posh apparently, I’d agree that it is definitely one of the nicest and right on the action of the town. We flew with Gulf air, again good. Enjoy a holiday here. Avoid Calangute at night , it’s stupid busy and not many Westerners.

    Serene and Beautiful
The beach presents a stunning tableau of natural beauty and tranquility, a pristine expanse where the sands are as pure as driven snow, untouched by the clamor of everyday life. The serene atmosphere is punctuated by the gentle lapping of waves, offering an idyllic escape from the world's bustle. As the day wanes, the horizon sets ablaze with hues of orange and pink, casting a spellbinding glow that heralds an extremely beautiful sunset. The shacks, uncluttered by the throng of tourists that fill more popular destinations, offer a peaceful haven where one can savor the coastal flavors and the soft, balmy breeze in quietude. For the adventure-seekers, the beach does not disappoint, offering exhilarating water sports like parasailing that allow one to soar high and witness the breathtaking vista from above. One of the greatest pleasures here is the liberty to indulge in long, unhurried walks along the shoreline—each step on the wet sand engraving a temporary mark, as if recording stories in the beach's memory. This beach isn't just a place to visit, but a serene experience to be cherished, offering both peace and play in a picture-perfect setting.

    Peaceful and Beautiful
Beautiful beach in a peaceful setting a short walk from the Holiday Inn hotel. We were entertained at the coast cafe with sun loungers and massages (foot, back, shoulders or all three). A short distance further down are the Droplet and Yuzu bars/nightclub which were fun and didn’t disappoint. Highly recommended

Stay clear of the water sports people. They rip you off. Total con, in the water for 30 seconds and then they want you to pay again

.This beach is really nice and sandy, there are beach bars with free sunbeds. The sand is soft and there is lots to do. It can be busy especially at weekends. The road leading to the beach has shopHoliday In Goa Tour and Travels. We got 2*, cold tasteless food on a run down old boat with a leaky toilet and dishonest staff. Chicken nuggets was served as a starter for meat eaters and a plate of soggy chips for us three vegetarians. Even the Indian couple on the boat were disgusted with food and lack of entertainment. There are five drinks included in the price - Kingfisher lager, cheap vodka, cheap brandy, cheap rum, cheap whiskey - and you have to buy the tonics, etc at Rs.180 each (Joel omitted to tell us that!) I drink gin, there was none on offer. This bad businessman called Joel didn't like my review in the boat guest book and shouted at me for it, I only wrote the truth.

When we came back we went to see Joel in his shop, and what an exceptionally rude immature man he was. He shouted at me as soon as I walked in his shop. He chose to call me a liar and shouted over me all the time, threatened to call the police and wanted the shop door closed so no one could hear him verbally abuse me.

Still here and having a good time but wanted to give a word of warning to people considering it. We arrived 28th December and obviously the town was very busy with tourists, mostly Indian. New Year's Eve was a great experience with fireworks lasting for nearly an hour, however large crowds of young drunk Indian men spilt the experience. Having stayed in several different area's of Goa and Kerala in the past few years I would definitely avoid Candolim for future visits. The town is extremely busy and unfortunately not appealing, some good restaurants but overall a feeling of being in Veronica's in Tenerife at it's worst ( for those that can remember it !!!) The beach has been a major disappointment, full of rubbish every day and extremely crowded at the main points with Indian tourists who don't seem to appreciate what they have got. The beach bars in general are large with neon signs and loud music, not the more sedate toes in the sand and sunset experience in some of the South Goa resorts. It clearly suits some people as the bars towards the end of the beach road are full of english tourists, English breakfasts and premiership football, and if that's what you want you will love it (but Benidorm is a lot closer) We all have our own preferences but if you want traditional Goa, long sandy beautiful beaches and cosy lunches and evening meals on the beach this is not for you.
