The Aguada lighthouse, also known as "Faro de Punta Borinquen," is located in Aguada, Puerto Rico.
It was built in 1889 and has been guiding ships along the northwest coast of Puerto Rico for over a century.
The lighthouse is situated on a hill overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, providing stunning views of the coastline and surrounding area.
The structure is made of iron and stands 110 feet tall, making it one of the tallest lighthouses in Puerto Rico.
The lighthouse was automated in 1963, and it is still in operation today, serving as an active aid to navigation.
It is a popular tourist attraction, drawing visitors who are interested in its historical significance and picturesque location.
The lighthouse is part of the Punta Borinquen Light Station, which includes several other buildings and structures.
The surrounding area offers opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, picnicking, and enjoying the coastal scenery.
The lighthouse has been designated as a historic site and is maintained by the Puerto Rico Conservation Trust.
Visiting the Aguada lighthouse provides a unique opportunity to appreciate both its architectural beauty and its role in maritime history.

Fort Aguada gives a glimpse of Portugal past and their tactically designed fort, lighthouse with moat. Interesting to see the architecture with water storage uphill in a fort, light house and canon points.
