This is a beautiful place adjacent to Fish River and is wonderful for the hands -on experience at the resource center featuring different species of native animals and plants. It has a good board walk out to Weeks Bay and native trees are named for...More

Plenty of places to fish without a boat. Seldom crowded. Grab a rod and reel a little bit of bait and maybe a chair and enjoy a little bank fishing. If the fish ain't biting, you don't have to worry about cleaning them.

The visitor centre is very interesting and the "custodian" there was very informative and enthusiastic. It would be a great place for younger kids to learn about Alabama wildlife. Very peaceful trails and you need to go down the road to visit the Pitcher Plant...More

It was offseason but we stopped to see picher plants and have a nice walk on the boardwalk. While sitting at the river we got an unexpected close-up view of a family of dolfins swimming up river, fishing and playing, even little ones!

Very nice and a pleasant surprise. Learned about marine biology and bigs and marshes and plant life. The board walk is very stable and the staff was quite friendly and helpful.

Nice side trip, a beautiful walk to the the bay, anyone of any age would enjoy. Loved walking on the well kept board walk and taking in the quiet serene atmosphere of the water and local laandscape.

Well worth a stop if you are in the area. The museum is one of the best and the extensive boardwalk allows a tour unlike any I've seen thru any similar place.

This is a large facility and there are areas that are completely free. In fact, I can't recall anything that had a charge associated with it but I think they do have a place to accept donations. It is a fascinating spot... More
