A beautiful home and interesting museum.

I do declare, there must have been a lot of money in Eufaula back when cotton was king. There are many old homes but the Shorter Mansion is open for tours. It is also used for events. The volunteer guide wasn't there when I arrived so the director sent me upstairs to look around. There are many interesting collections, a... More

I love to tour historic sites and museums. My husband, not so much. He had planned to sit on bench outside and wait for me. When we arrived the person that gives the tours was out so they told us we could tour on our own free of charge. Husband decided to go with me. He actually enjoyed it. There... More

We stopped by here from Atlanta on our way to Destin Florida. We always drive this route, and this time we stopped. We toured this lovely old mansion. Amazing history, and beautifully decorated for Christmas. Friendly folks who give a nice tour.

Not only is the conversation wonderful at this place, but it is also a paradise for history buffs and lovers of eclectic knowledge. Massive Civil War flag upstairs, a stuffed tiger from Indonesia, and gorgeous vintage dresses are key highlights here. Must Visit!

Schedule plenty of time to enjoy this gem. The museum upstairs is extensive. Our tour guide, Pat or Pam??, was excellent. Congratulations to Eufaulians who in 1965 had the gumption to save the Shorter Mansion.

We loved visiting the Shorter Mansion. Our tour guide was the sweetest lady and knew so much about the house and everything in it. We loved the beautiful architecture and the lovely collection of antiques upstairs.

Our friend took us there. Wonderful architecture, furniture, and memorabilia. Can be rented for parties, weddings, etc. The docent was very informative as she guided us from room to room.
