The trees are beautiful with the changing colors. The trails are great. Make sure you go to bald rock and Pulpit rock. They have amazing views and are not difficult to walk. Walk the bigfoot trail and your kids will like trying to find the bigfoot cutouts along the path. Go inside the tower and the CCC museum. If you... More

As I type this, we are headed somewhere c else to finish our meal. Wafflehouse is better, I promise. 1 hr for a cold poorly seasoned state is disgusting. And there weren't more than 5 small tables of people.

Our visit to the Cheaha Resort State Park in Alabama was one of the most enjoyable and rewarding trips we have ever taken. We stayed in a cabin in the woods. The cabin itself was exceptionally clean and equipped with all the amenities we were looking for. Spa tub , kitchenette , fireplace , outside grill area , outstanding view... More

Wonderful view from the highest point in Alabama. Enjoyed cruising along rt 281, stopping at various overlooks. Especially liked the very well maintained CCC (Cilvil Conservation Corps) tower on top of the mountain! Temperatures are considerable cooler up there, than in Atlanta - so we stopped at the restaurant for a cup of hot tea, and a little sweet something.... More

Drove from Anniston... quick 30 minute drive. Stopped at Museum - the museum woman was very helpful on history of park and how it was built. Kids walked up to top of tower. We then went to Bald Rock and Pulpit trails. Bald Rock had a board walk... very accessible. Pulpit trail with a steep decline and ended with a... More

Loved the view from the outlooks on our hikes. The view from the restaurant is great. The CCC Museum with highest point in Alabama is neat and the Native American museum was a neat stop for the kids as well.

Cheaha State Park was a nice place to visit to escape the heat down in the valley. The lady at the Indian Arrowhead Museum was very nice. The fall foliage was amazing. The only thing I would save my money on is the gem mine. You have to pay the $20 just to get a shot at finding lots of... More

You will not find a more beautiful state park anywhere! This is a great get-away-from-it-all park. You can camp or choose a cabin or chalet or hotel room. The staff is wonderful. And the mountain scenery quite lovely!

The views from the highest point in Alabama were fantastic. Fall color was poor because of the drought conditions, but beautiful none the less. BUT, the restaurant was terrible. We were there on a Sunday when there was a lunch buffet. Not only was the food lacking in flavor and selection, but the facility was filthy. We will eat there... More
