This area must be visit if you are looking for Artificial Jewellery through public transport because it's too clumsy with traffic and narrow road . There are lots of different things can be done during the visit like watching Theretare at Minarva which very well known to local people, then lots of Jewellery shops who sells variety of ladies jewellery and lots of eating out place and there is nice Shiva Temple.
Tips- visit if you have plenty of time to spare.

The street is too crowded. It is good for exploring kolkata in a raw way if you can combat the noise and the dust and the HAWKERS!

I am from Dhaka Bangladesh, the steer is like my hometown. The street is very near to the New Market. Most famous 2 restaurants are located there. My hotel was also located here. It is very easy to reach New Market and other attractions by this street. While you will visit this street you will definitely love the street.

When you're away for a long time and you're home sick, come here. With the local indians, such as Mike and Harry, or the spanish restaurant or the Blue Sky Cafe ! This is the place to be !

Sudder Street in central Kolkata is home to small time foreigners who thrive on alcohol and drugs. Everything from illegal money exchange, prostitution and drugs is available here but you have a good chance of being duped by touts and drug peddlers. Stay away if you can.

Sudder Street is a must go place for travellers with medium to low budget who look for quality hotels and guesthouses. At the heart of Kolkata's oldest shopping destination, New Market, there are so many hotels and inns with international standards waiting to cater to your every needs. During Holi day, this place gets up to wear so many colours as you can see from the pics as well from other online resources.

The street starts exactly opposite the Fire Brigade Headquarters on Free School Street and ends towards the entrance of Indian Museum on Chowringhee Road. There is a oldest hotel name fairlawn is great British traditional Hotel ,i always staying there for enjoying sudder street culture, also a building on the turning of Hartford Ln. off Sudder St. where Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore lived for a while and penned a few poems
There are a number of cheap eateries, foreign currency exchange kiosks and travel agencies in Sudder street. The area around Sudder Street is notorious for drug peddlers, who supply contraband drugs at cheap rates

Loved different street foods specially Hot tea & Fresh fruit juice! This street is crowdy & renowned for several budget hotels. A large number of Bangladeshis used to roam around this street & it is quite close to New Market!
Roaming around the street I explored a monument of Noble laureate poet Rabindronath Tagore! So, This street is historical too...
