Gariahat Mall is adjacent to Ballygaunge railway station. Some big brands such as Westside, spencers are located here. I visited this place to buy some items from spencers store.

We bought clothes and cosmetics worth 10k and when we got home we realised they had billed us twice for the cosmetics inspite of us insisting that the payment had gone through. They swiped the card again. We have the statement of POS but they refuse to refund. What cheats!

This is a building in Gariahat which essentially house the Tata’s Westside outlet in three floors and a Spencers supermarket in the ground floor. The Westside outlet is smaller than the flagship Camac Street outlet and downmarket but stores all the essentials. The first floor section with household items is almost as good as the one in Camac Street. The good thing is that parking within the premises is free.So in case you don’t feel like making the trip to Camac Street Westside outlet you can consider visiting this “mall” with the Westside outlet, assuming you are in South Kolkata.

I had to visit westside @ Gariahat mall to change some of my daughter’s outfits today.. Those clothes were purchased ( along with some of my clothes) a week before from Westside@ Manisquare mall. I went along with my daughter (4yrs) there. Unfortunately, I wore a kurti which was purchased from Westside the other day. So that was a new kurti, I wore for the first time. That was the biggest mistake of my life. The moment I stepped into the store.. the scanner at the gate started beeping.. no reason why. Thought it was some error as I went to the store straight from home, didnot visit any other shop in between. After exchanging my daughter’s clothes, when we were leaving the store.. as usual again the scanner started beeping.. They already knew this problem before coz while entering itself the scanner gave false alarm. I let them search each n every belonging of mine. They completely harassed me for no reason. They embarrassed me in front of other ppl. Luckily I had the purchase receipts of my previous day purchases, so could ensure them the kurti was paid n bought. It was a mistake on their part.. if the kurti’s barcode was not properly scanned earlier during the purchase of the product.. what is my mistake in this? I have never felt so so humiliated before.. They made me feel as if it was my mistake. Most unfriendly behaviour from the sales men. I was with a small child.. but that dint even bother them a bit.. Also the clothes stock was very poor there. I couldnot even find any proper exchange of my daughters outfit. Today was the last time I visited that place. Never going there again.

Not far from the Ballygunge tram station, Gariahat Mall is located in a busy area of Kolkata which is dominated with street market and a mall (Gariahat Mall) which is largely just one Westside. Not complaining that there isn't much to shop, but the Westside here is pretty good. I quite like the Westside at this place, and is good for daily household shopping. Wouldn't expect much else if I go again.

A modern nice building. Beautiful collection of ladies, gents and children wares, accessories, departmental stores. Artistically presented. Shopping in a nice cool place. High end goods cost money but worth it. Very well mannered assistants to help shopping enjoyable.

Location: Near Ballygunge Station, the entrance is opposite Indrajaal.
Entrance is sloped and reasonably friendly differently-abled people.
Dominated by the anchor tenant WestSide, though there are a few eateries in the upper floors.
There are quite a few other shopping complexes and modern malls which can provide better alternatives to this complex.
