We took an exceptional walking/driving tour with Kaushik C. His normal tour is nearly 4 hours. Recognizing that some of our team members may not be able to walk for that long, he modified it for us. He is exceptionally knowledgeable not just about the city but the broader context of the city’s role in Indian and British history. He is a great story teller which made the tour a lot of fun. Review of: Raj Heritage Walk
The Raj heritage walk gets you up close and personal with Calcutta like nothing else I have ever experienced before. The 300+ year old city comes alive during this beautifully paced 3 hours walk (we actually took nearly 4 hours but enjoyed every bit of it!) through the intriguing narrative shared by Kaushik Chatterjee. His incredible knowledge about history, architecture and cultural heritage makes the walk engaging for all. Just to give you a perspective - My 14 Yr daughter and my 75 year old father both had joined me and my husband for the walk - and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. Just to give you a perspective - the instagram obsessed teen forgot about taking selfies and listened intentfully throughout the walk. I would not just highly recommend this - but encourage you to try this once with friends/family. Just a word of advise - wear good walking shoes and carry a bottle of water!…

Review of: Raj Heritage Walk
Headline: Go to Kolkata and have a tour with Kaushik! What an amazing city, and what a great introduction to it through this walking tour. I have family links to Kolkata, but didn't really know a lot about it until now. Going on this tour was a perfect way to start to learn about this fascinating place, and left me hungry for more. It's a very early start, but that way you get to wander round the city at a (relatively) tranquil time and see it starting to wake up. Kaushik is an engaging guide. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of the city and it is good to have the chance hear and understand the Indian / Bengali take on the Raj and the British in India, rather than what we might get at home. You learn a lot more wandering round the streets with him for a few hours than you could ever do from a guide book. I hope to go back again at some point and, if I do, I would not hesitate to get back in touch for another tour.…

KC (Kaushik Chatterjee) was an exceptional guide as he shared Kolkata with our family. Our day started at the flower market followed by chai tea along the Ganges river, a tour through areas of theater, music, arts, and academics all while learning about the fascinating history and culture of the Kolkata and India. KC was always attentive to the needs of our group and coordinated with our schedule. Having a personal guide who shared not just knowledge but a love and passion for his home left us with our own special bond to Kolkata.…
