Church from the 1700's with several marbles plaques to various British people in 1700's and 1800's. Also a WW1 memorial. Black hole of Calcutta memorial in the grounds.

Most people in Kolkata are aware of St.Paul's cathedral, which is definitely a must see. But not just commoners, the traffic guards in Esplanade also have no clue about this monument. Get to Esplanade and take a stroll by the side of Governor's house to get to this monument. Really an architectural masterpiece, the tall strong columns reminiscent of the... More

A wonderful place. Huge campus. This has other important attractions also. Charnock's memorial, Holwell monument's existing edition, etc. The church itself is a spectacle. What a structure.

St. John's church is situated at the heart of the business hub of the City of Joy. You will be surprised to see it's quaint atmosphere amid the hustle and bustle of the city. It's quite an old church with some historical importance. The land was given to Warren Hastings in 1783 byMaharaja Nabakishen Bahadur and the foundation stone was... More

This place is definitely a must do for all visitors to Calcutta. Right from job charnocks memorial to the black hole memorial - it's part of the city's heritage. Inside the church, it's beautiful and tranquil and I would definitely recommend going there on a quiet day to sit and reflect. The painting of the Last Supper is beautiful. Make... More

St. John's Church, perhaps the oldest church in the city surely needs a visit. Go there for the wonderful Last Supper painting. The peaceful place right next to Raj Bhabhan will not disappoint.
