The place like a breath of fresh air. Well managed and lives upto its name. Saw an exhibition and a dance festival in Aug. Awesome.

For those looking for an upmarket art experience this is the just the place located off the EM Bypass near the Ruby Hospital. Unfortunately parking inside is not allowed and you have to park your car in the road in front. This is a modern construction by the local corporate ,the Emami group. As you enter the impressive air conditioned interior you are greeted by a longish art installation. We came to attend a garment exhibition and the friendly guy at the reception gave us a discount voucher for use in the cafe .There is a lovely art gallery located on the ground floor and the day we were there there was an exhibition by Vadudhsiva Kutumbakam with very impressive installation and paintings( including one by Amrita Sher Gill).Our exhibition was located on the first floor and which you reach by very well appointed elevators.There were a few paintings in this floor as well. For lunch we went to this cafe called “Grace” located in the second floor which is very modern and tastefully done up and serve excellent vegetarian food. The staff are very well trained and the prices reasonable. The choice of food is eclectic though the helpings are very small as is to be expected in such an arty place. The floor is also a gift shop and has displays of various souvenirs you can purchase. All in all a very surprisingly lovely experience and the last thing you expect in a rather decrepit city like Kolkata.Entry free.

It’s vast and huge , the gallery is well designed and lighted. Workshops need to be more frequent so that both the learners and trainers can be up to date.
