This is underground. Only Dum Dum Station is above the ground and after a while, it enters the ground. Superfast, airconditioned. It has become lifeline of Kolkata. Heavy rush during office hours i.e, 8:00am to 11:00am

Oldest in India, the metro railway will serve you a comfortable smooth and quick travel free from the city's rush. Though busy at the office hours it's certainly enjoyable and amply time saving.

You might call it crowded or over-hyped but there's no other mode of transport in the city that is as fast and efficient. And if you are lucky enough to get an ac rake even the crowd won't bother you anymore.

Poor lighting , badly maintained very old trains are being used. Dirty and no good food or snack outlets inside metro station like in other cities like Delhi. Kolkata was apparently one of the earlier cities to get the metro (if not the earliest). It's...More
