Soham showed us places that were not in any guide books, he is passionate and knowledgeable and knows Kolkata inside out. This is not like any other tour I’ve been ever, I don’t want to say exactly where and how you’ll get there as it would spoil the surprise, but if you’re in Kolkata and if this is the only thing you do, then do it! This tour has made us fall in love with Kolkata!

Can't add anything to what others have written already. Soham was one of the most genuine guides it's ever been my good fortune to meet. Knowledgeable, passionate, good-humoured and with a real concern for both his guests safety and enjoyment.
If you're asking yourself: 'is it worth getting up at this time in the morning?' then I would be happy to reassure you that it most certainly is.

The perfect tour for anyone really wanting to try Bengal street food but a bit nervous about it. Let Soham guide you through the insanely narrow alleyways and markets. He oozes pride in the city that has been his family's home for generations. And then there's the food. So delicious and maybe stuff you wouldn't try unless you had a trustworthy local by your side. Two words: Do It.

Soham is perfect to run this tour! He is friendly, professional, energetic, entertaining and very safety conscious. There was a broad variety of street foods available which a tourist might not ordinarily be game to try, but even better, he tied the food in with fascinating stories of Kolkata and the history of Bengal, as we strolled around his heritage neighbourhood. Well worth it and extremely enjoyable.

This was an excellent tour during which the tour guide explained what would otherwise be a mysterious celebration. I would definitely recommend taking this tour to make the most of visiting during this festival!

If you are looking for someone who can make you fall in love with Kolkata,by taking you to unexplored places and weaving a vivid narrative with small surprises on your way, then its definitely Soham!!! He is an amazing soul with exceptional story telling skills. He paints a vivid picture in your heart, by speaking very passionately about the places in Kolkata. Soham takes care of even the smallest needs of his guest. That's highly appreciable. He makes sure his guests are feeling safe and comfortable throughout the tour. Our 7 year old daughter turned the Magic hour tour into a "Logic Hour" by asking Soham a lot of questions. He answered her with utmost patience and to our surprise, she started missing his company after the tour. His narrative is a work of art while his pictures are pieces of poetry. They are candid, captivatimg and OMG!! how beautifully he has captured the emotions!!! You can ask him anything about Kolkata and he will turn it into a mindblowing conversation. The whole tour was like a scene out of a fairy tale where the winter snow added to the drama. Thank you Soham for sharing your love and enthusiasm for Kolkata with us!!! Your stories will remain etched in your memories forever.

If you only do one thing, do this tour! I loved it! Getting up early for the tour when the city was still sleeping, it was still cool. All the different modes of transport were brilliant. The riveting stories especially the Black hole of Calcutta. The hole experience was fantastic, especially the flower market. I loved Soham's photos. So beautiful and professional. Everything seemed to happen by chance, like our encounter with the police of horseback, but actually Soham has it all beautifully choreographed. You won't be disappointed.

I signed up for the highly recommended Magic Hour Tour, which was so good that I signed up this Alleyway Food Tour that evening. And Soham did not disappoint! I live in Bangladesh, so I'm already familiar with Bengali food, street food, etc. but Soham has created a tour that even the most experienced travelers will enjoy. Come hungry because he's going to introduce you to the most amazing treats around Old Calcutta, his own childhood stomping ground. Thank you, Soham!

This was recommended to me by several colleagues, and it definitely lived up to that recommendation. Soham has done a great job curating a tour that brings the city alive. Not a historical tour, but an anthropological one that highlights the life and treasures of Calcutta, with a little historical background thrown in to provide more context. Highlights included the flower market, the various modes of transport we took, and the artists' market. It was such a good tour that I decided to sign up for the the food tour that evening, too. I highly recommend Calcutta Capsule and this tour specifically, and I look forward to doing it again the next time I'm in Calcutta. Thank you, Soham!
