Calcutta is my favorite city in India and I return as often as I can. I was delighted to find a new (for me) attraction to discover new (for me) culinary options in my favorite part of the city, North Calcutta. Soham was amazing and tailored the tour to meet our needs. It's a nice mix of quiet and rowdy (the quiet lanes and the bustling Shyambazar) with special spots and amazing food. I would definitely do another tour with him and enjoyed every minute of this one.

Any time with Soham on any tour will be a complete treasure!!!! He is an eloquent, poised, and lovely gentleman who gave a very informative BUT fun alleyway food tour of North Calcutta. We've lived in Delhi for 5 years and have taken umpteen tours. Sohum ranks at the very top. This is a don't miss! Thank you, Sohum!

We heard about Kolkata's reputation as a "foodie city" so we knew we had to try this tour. We had been wanting to eat street food in India, but we weren't really sure what was safe (and also had trouble communicating!), so this tour was perfect! We were a bit early, so Soham invited us up to the lovely rooftop patio of his parents' house while we waited for the other couple to show up. Soham took us to all the best spots in the neighbourhood where he grew up. Just be sure to pace yourself, because there was sooo much good stuff to eat! We started with chai in clay pots (the traditional way). Then we had these puffed balls with potatoes and broth inside. Next, we had a puffed rice snack mix, that I really liked, and then the best pakoras I've ever had. We got a history lesson about Bose, whose statue stood in the intersection around which the tour took place. There were some mutton dishes for meat-eaters with vegetarian substitutions for me. I liked the muglai paratha. We also had some great kathi rolls. I think we had sweets at three different places. My favourite was the rasa ghool (definitely spelling that wrong!) We ended our tour with a story of 11 footballers who resisted the British in 1912. Very cool!

Review of: Magic Hour Tour
We spent 3 weeks in India and one of the most memorable few hours we had was spent with Soham. The 5 am tram ride is in our memory forever, I don't want to say to much about the tour because it will spoil the nice treats Soham has for you, please, if you are ever in Calcutta DO THIS TOUR. Thank you for the memories Soham and take care.

Review of: Magic Hour Tour
This tour is definitely worth getting up early for - in particular if you are new in Kolkata. It is a great introduction, and the city certainly feels slightly less overwhelming afterwards. Different modes of transport were used, and we got to see a lot. Soham is a friendly and knowledgeable guide, with a strong of passion for his city. I will highly reccomend this trip to anyone seaching for and adventure, and I will definitely sign up for one of the other tours Soham offers, if I return to Kolkata.
