I am just back from a month long visit to India, covering most of the country from north to south and it began with a tour of Kolkata with Navpreet. Our group experienced a variety of guides on our travels and our Kolkata tour was head and shoulders above the rest. Navpreet's detailed knowledge of Kolkata is amazing, if you ask. She does not go on and on with a memorized information, she delivers a passionate, sometimes animated narrative that tells of her love of Kolkata and after hearing her descriptions of particular places you find you have a question or two, you soon discover the vast depth of her knowledge.
At some point in your travels through India you will realize that like the lines marking the driving lanes on the road, plans are really just a suggestion. So when traffic brought our two vehicle group to a standstill, Navpreet moved to plan B so deftly that most in the group didn't even realize.
We opted for the non traditional tourist tour and she did not disappoint. I would not be surprised if many life long Kolkata residents may not have been to some of the spots on our tour and we definitely discovered the heart and soul of a wonderful city that many miss out on.
An amazing tour from an amazing lady!

Was glad that I signed up to be a part of the virtual walk of "The Esplanade" area of Kolkata conducted by Navpreet Arora of Fun on Streets on Sunday, 19th July,2020.
After being confined to the 4 walls, it felt like I was actually passing through the 'so familiar' streets of my very own city to hear and see the rich heritage and the history behind these magnificent structures staring at us. Never seemed to have thought even in passing that we have been living in areas steeped in so many historical stories . Navpreet shared such interesting trivia about each monument that I probably didn't blink for an hour.
Loved every minute of it. Would highly recommend travel buffs to attend it.

It was a well researched path covering 3 kms in all. It contained interesting stopovers, each connected to interesting anecdotes.. bits of forgotten history that so contributed to our city's culture, lifestyle & ethos - were discovered. The walk itself was at a very comfortable pace. Navneet ensured that none was tired or out of breath at any point. People of all ages take part and enjoy, provided they can ignore the natural shabbiness of our city corners & tolerate the general apathy of authorities towards heritage structures. I highly recommend it.

The heritage walk arranged and executed by Navpreet Arora showed me a side of Kolkata I never thought I'd see. A mix of history, art, sports and spiritualism, Navpreet packed in this amazing experience which I will never forget. Special mention must be made of our meeting with the first woman potter of Kolkata. It was an honour to meet her.
Navpreet is clear, confident and brief in her narrative. What I liked most was the fact that she did not let us intrude on people, especially the potters, but made sure that we respected their space and creativity.

We enjoyed a great walk through Kumartuli and the neighbourhood with Navpreet. We had been craving to see the city closely and this turned out to be a great way to learn about the history, architecture, and the people. While we marvelled at the idols of the gods and the grand heritage buildings, the baris of the rich and illustrious, Navpreet provided a delightful store of anecdotes and trivia about past and present residents. It is a memorable experience.

As part of the events organised during college batchmates' get-together in Kolkata, we did a walking tour and a visit to Belur math and Dakshineshwar temple guided by Navpreet Arora of Funonstreets. I was very impressed with her knowledge of the city and its history. What was even more impressive was her ability to engage the audience with her articulate and witty storytelling and conversation. There was never a dull moment during the hours-long walk or the bus journey through the crowded city. The name of her firm is apt - Funonstreets. I wish Navpreet the very best in her entrepreneurial journey.

I grew up in Kolkata and yet, the Heritage Walk tour with Navpreet was an eyeopener - history, architecture and the character of the city brought to life. She was engaging, funny, knew her facts and paced the tour to suit the group - no easy task when herding a group of 25+ seniors. Her love for her home city of Kolkata was very apparent. We took a wonderful chai and malai toast break midway for people to recharge. I would recommend the Heritage Tour highly to anyone who wants to get to know Kolkata.

The heritage studio of G. Paul, with the lifesized sculptures of some famous Bengal faces, at Kumortuli is something I will never forget from this trip. But with Navpreet Arora of FunOnStreets, there is not one but many unforgettable moments and stories, such as the house that birthed the East Bengal Club or the fabulous looking Kumortuli Roy Bari! Even the little things come to life with her - like an old water spout or a gas lamp that you would have surely walked past otherwise!
This was my second walk with her, the first being the splendid Faith Walk a couple of years ago. Now I can't imagine roaming the streets of Kolkata without her delightful eye and ever enthusiastic anecdotes for company. Also, no walk with her is complete without a cuppa tea or some sweet/savoury!

Navpreet is an awesome host. She was knowledgable about the area, shared several interesting stories. This was a highlight of our trip and was a fantastic way to explore a piece of Kolkata. Navpreet was more than happy explaining the area, sharing her insights into the different areas and places and making sure that we were completely happy. Our guide, Navpreet, was very knowledgeable with a great sense of humor, and she made sure everyone was happy and safe throughout the busy streets of Kolkata.

Lived in Kolkata for most of my life but thoroughly enjoyed this eye-opening tour, peppered with history, anecdotes and trivia from the city's Colonial past. Our guide was highly knowledgeable and her passion for the past is apparent. A great way to see the city from a different perspective.
