For anyone interested in the topic of the Himalayas and the people who climb them, this site is essential. From the grave of Tenzig Norway, Sir Edmund Hillary's Sherpa, to the museum with its collection of equipment from different eras, to its great location, this attraction should not be missed.

Its situated just next to the zoo. Its a wonderful collection of pictures depicting the hardships people like Tenzing Norgay faced while they climbed atop the mighty himalayas. Inspiration indeed!

This is basically an institute/college for mountaineering students. With all due respect to these youngsters who have chosen such adventurous path, it's not something I enjoyed visiting.

This place is situated beside the Zoo. You would get some historical details from the museum. The museum was very neat and clean. (August-2015)

Loved this museum, it was an unexpected find and I spent a lot of time at each of the exhibits before taking photos outside by the memorials to Sherpa Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hilary. If you are in Darjeeling and at the Zoo this is another must see exhibit, if only to give you a sense, of the challenges... More
