Mundane route, felt extremely duped while taking the ride. Grossly overpriced. Please avoid at all costs. Opt for the Darjeeling to Kurseong Toy Train route instead.

Must visit on Darjeeling itinerary. But please book tickets well in advance through IRCTC. The joy ride starts from Darjeeling station goes through beautiful batasia loop where it halts for 10 mins. Thereafter it reaches Ghum station and returns back to Darjeeling. Overall journey time is 2 hrs .

Damn! We wasted Rs.2600 for two people to ride this toy train which is called joy ride. I'd say it is 'joyless' ride! We took the steam engine one, too much noise and smoke pollution. I got a headache coz of that sound. It is waste even if it was a free ride. They stop at coupla locations which r... More

We used Toy train to go from Kurseong to Darjeeling just to try this Unesco h.s.. At the ticket office they sold us only 1 class tickets (11 times the price of 2 cl. And just a poor difference (toilet). Price is higher than taxi and much slower. (Railway runs along the paved road). Landscapes are not the best so... More

This train is a UNESCO World heritage. We booked the joy ride from Darjeeling to Darjeeling via Batasia loop. The journey was enchanting but the seats were not that comfortable.Tickets are very expensive for a 2hrs ride.I feel with a hefty amount like this, they should have given some refreshments inside.

We had taken Joy Ride (Darjeeling - Ghum - Darjeeling) in steam engine. JOY RIDE: Great heritage. Route is through the city, Batasia marvel and back. unique experience of steam engine train. Novelty for kids. This must be in itinerary all reasons. MODALITY: Heritage for sure but at the end of day run by "sarkari" babu. Pre-booked tickets gets cancelled... More
