The 12 km train ride from Darjeeling to Ghum (steam engine) costs Rs 1300 per seat. The toy train system is a Unesco World Heritage monument. This to my mind is the Golden Goose of Darjeeling. Unfortunately, though the Golden Goose is still alive and...More

Its a heritage for sure,i accept, its nice but the steam engine gives out sooooo much of smoke that the hills seem to get choked.Else everything else is fine...if there is a kid,it will b a lovely ride.

A must do thing in Darjeeling. The train will take you to Ghum where you can visit the Railway museum. The 2 hours trip (with 30 minutes stop) is fun itself. The train will go back to the starting point.
