We visited this temple earlier this month and our experience was a beautiful one. The prayer session was on, and the monk heading it very kindly directed us to join him in beating small hand drums kept for the purpose. The ceremony consists of chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo which is an expression of determination, to embrace and manifest our Buddha nature. You... More

Visited this temple with a couple of friends. Very peaceful place. There was some chanting going on. We joined it, and we were given some drums to play along. That was fun. The main dome is really nice with a lot of wooden inscriptions of various Buddhist stories. And not to forget the scenic himalayan ranges in the background. Thoroughly... More

The place is not far from the main town. The temple is clean and decent in appearance. The sculptures on the pagoda are interesting. Apart from the temple, the place also offers great view of the hills and majestic pine trees.

It's a beautiful hike to reach this place, and the views from the pagoda extend all the way to Kanchenjunga.

As the name suggests, this place is really peaceful. There were only a handful of visitors when we went. The floor does get dreadfully cold, so be careful.

Sharing space with a japanese temple is the white peace pagoda. It's a bit far from the city. Nothing special in my opinion but locals seem to like it.

Must visit this place. It's so serene and so calm. Truly a beautiful place. It is right next to the Japanese temple. Do visit both preferably around 4 as it's the time when sun is ready to set and the calmness of the place makes it all the more lovely!!
