It is a nice place with seating areas and shops surrounding it. On one side, there is a view of the mountains but we could not see it due to clouds. There is not much to do except look at the view and visit some of the shops, many of which sell curios and handicrafts

Right on the Mall, Chowrasta is the town square. They are shops all around it right from the hawkers selling Chinese made woolens to very old shops. Good for shopping for souvenirs. The bookstore has a good collection particularly related to the Dalai Lama and Buddhism as well as local areas including Sikkim. While the place has been spruced up... More

Chowrasta is busy and boisterous! If Darjeeling is a party, Chowrasta is its soul. It is crowded and has colourful, brightly-lit shops on both sides, selling all sorts of things, from pashmina shawls to piping hot, delicious momos (which are a must-have!). You will hear so many different languages here - people from all over the country, and even from... More

I love shopping, hence I would say that it is perfect place. So many shops for winter are. There is mall road and near road and both have its own flavor of shopping. Horse ride is another interesting thing available there. For tea shopping we had been to Nathmulls and found it to be good.

Clean . People of Darjeeling do not shout. But visitors sometimes cross the limit . Even in Dol utsab some local youngsters observed holi very modestly and within themselves without making any noise or creating any trouble to all people seating around. Take a round in the morning and find the gracious Kanchenjungha with its snow peak if weather is... More

We loved the ambience..the vibrancy..the crowds..the chatter! The shops around are so good. We bought beautiful crockery from Nathmulls..delicate Darjeeling tea from Golden Tips..and the best bakery and eatery is Glenary's! Amazing chocolate

It is the city center of Darjeeling. I understand that after moving hawkers to the side lane, it became better. This is a place where you can sit down if you get a place and relax as no vehicular traffic is allowed. Due to heavy urbanization, you can't see the beauty of the surrounding mountains. You will see only buildings... More

Its good place for people to sit and pass time. But not maintained neatly. Lots of waste and unclean roads.
