Yesterday, 17th July, instead going back to Siliguri by normal NH 55 via Kurseong, I choose to return via Lamahatta. I could not imagine, what a beautiful route it is. One should choose to go by this route to enjoy. 3-4 km road is damaged at Teesta. Overall very good road and nature

Very scenic garden

This is very beautiful garden. It takes around 1 hour from Darjeeling. This is must do when in Darjeeling. Very scenic, good place to take photos.

A picturesque place

Beautifully maintained. Tall pine trees. A good new place in the tourist map of Darjeeling. New home stays have come up. Good place for a couple of days

Beautiful pine forest

The park is rich of pine forest and has a sacred water lake above which you must trek up a hard slope to get, but the view once there is simply mesmerizing.

Excellent place admist nature.
The trek to the top is quite lovely. But it is about 1 km each way. So might not be advisable for the elderly or those with medical conditions.
However, they can still enjoy the ambience of the location.
On top there is a small lake which is supposed to be sacred.

Visited during the drive from Darjeeling to Gangtok by road. Well planned garden on steep gradient with tree house view and plenty of flowers.

Where the sun light plays hide & seek

It was a nice experience of visiting Lamahatta eco park. The speciality is that nothing is artificial, simply a little moutain of pine trees where you can climb with your family/friends as there is well maintained stairs of rock.
Other than this, there is a beautiful pond on the top of the mountain.

If you guys watched twilight movie, there was a scene of Edward climbing a mountain carrying Bella on his back to show her how does Edward look in the sunlight at the top of the hill.Somehow I had a feel that the essence of the scene lies among Lamahatta pine trees.

Great view - lovely place between Darjeeling & Kalimpong.

Wonderful view of Kanchenjunga. Stayed at the Pine Haven Resort, but there are other good places to stay. Cozy and not too congested.
