Neighbourhood: Nungambakkam/Marina Beach
Being one of the oldest areas of Chennai, Nugambakkam is not just a commercial
hub with various educational institutions, premium hotels and government offices,
but the Rutland Gate Road here is one of the most expensive neighbourhoods in the
city. The shopping here is promising with international retail brands and a variety of Indian designer boutiques lined up in the locality with plenty of cafes and restaurants to give good company. An epicenter of Chennai’s vibrant nightlife, Nungambakkam is the gateway to the city’s most favourite stroll at Marina Beach. The long stretch of the promenade and beach at Marina includes historic monuments and public buildings, reflecting Chennai’s Portuguese, British and
Indian heritage and is Chennai’s most popular choice for a relaxed evening.

Be here in a group. 5 themed puzzled rooms here to experience real gaming. Need to choose one as per your wish. You'll be locked in a room with your team mates (friends or family). Keep on searching for clues where you'll get more clues from clues to get the key to get out of the room. Good games nice place to hangout. Wish in the waiting time if they sold some snacks.

Wow! I have played the Escape the Room in mobile and computer. This is the first time that I am doing it in real life. We went as a team of 15 and we were welcomed warmly. The owner of the place is an amazing person. Who is very hilarious and he explained the whole activity.
We were split in to team and each team are locked in to a room and you are given 45 mins to escape from the room. The clues are not that obvious, but if you put your thinking cap on then it is an easy job.
We solved two rooms and we are planning to go again to solve some more room. They got buzzer option, when you got stuck they come and give a little hint to proceed further.
Next I should mention about Virtual Reality. Many of us did not experienced this before. So it was one amazing experience. There are two modes one is Balloon ride and another is Dragon ride. Both will give a wonderful experience, of height and balancing act.
Time went like a jiffy. And It is worth spending every money. If you are a team of 4 or more who needs real adventure and this is the place. Suggest this for your team outing, you will not get disappointed.

Right place to spend your precious time with your loved ones, friends or family. The rooms are very well done. And price is very reasonable. Must do if you loves to solve the puzzles and escape.

One should come here with a group to have maximum fun( at least 3). Each room has a theme and u can choose the theme like - " prison of chaos" , " the mirror of love" , etc. The group enters into the room and then will have solve a lot of clues and mysteries and find a way to exit the room within half an hour..it was a wonderful experience found nowhere else in Chennai.. I think all from 10yrs and above will thoroughly enjoy this ..I loved it!!

We were bored of traveling to the usual malls and came across Freeing India Online. One of the must try places for activity filled day.
They have different set of mysteries based on the group size. You sure to have a lot of fun solving the mysteries...

“If you get stuck, push button for a hint”... Then someone will stick their head in and tell you “wait 1 minute” but then leave you standing like idiots for at least 5 more minutes (your time is still counting down) before returning to speak to you like morons.
Unable to find 1 clue because it was placed somewhere we were SPECIFICALLY told to leave alone as it is “display only”.
One puzzle wouldn’t work after arranging the magnets to solve puzzle, staff came and simply pulled magnets down and re-attached repeatedly until it “worked”.
So, this is the place for you if you like being spoken down to, misdirected and don’t mind if things actually work or not... WEAK

we went for from russia with love. It was totally misleading. We were expecting a spy based puzzle etc. murder maybe..etc. it was disappointing to find some weird puzzle with jesus, joesph, virgin mary and a demon. I couldn't make any connection with that or russia or From Russia with Love. There was nothing to it. some parts of the puzzle were designed decently but since it was misleading I lost total interest.

Concept:
These are glorified 'treasure hunt' games. There are limited number of themed rooms and basic idea is to escape from those locked rooms. Since the games are group activities, make sure you find enough people to go with you (4-6 is ideal). The games have a time limit of 45 minutes. You could escape earlier (depends on your smarts).
Pros:
- This is a very quick way to keep groups busy - not physically demanding
- Reasonable amount of thinking / problem solving involved.
- Creative game ideas
Cons:
- You can play each game only once - you would know the solution by that time.
- You need atleast 3 ppl - and only one game that allows that
- They could have made the games a bit more immersive.
- Cost seems a bit high - though given the location / rent, maybe it is fair...
Summary: I would recommend at-least one visit with family / friends. Off the beaten track.

Freeing India is definitely the best place to hang out with friends and have fun in Chennai. They are typically detective escape games for groups of 3 - 6. Costs around INR 250 per person and lasts around 45 minutes but it is definitely worth the play.
