This is a very temple in comparison with some, but impressive & busy. It has a rainbow coloured towered entrance (gopuram) ornately pillared pavilions & a large tank. The temple & the tank are surrounded by busy streets on four sides. The temple is dedicated to Shiva. Inside there is also an area where cattle are kept undercover, but hte... More

For religious persons, people who love architecture, culture and tradition.....this is a must visit place. The area is centrally located, can be easily commuted by bus/train/taxi/auto. Devotees/tourists throng this temple.....The main deity Lord Kapaleeshwarar with His consort Karpagambal...Lord Shiva facing west is a special mention to be made. The sanctum sanctorum for God and Goddess are different. All festivals throughout... More

First temple visited on vacation. Ok small city temple, but I had forgotten about visiting till looking at photos. Gopuram had sharp, modern colored images with detailing.

This is a marvellous Hindu temple where you can see all kinds of life and activity, both the devout paying homage to their preferred gods and an assortment of cleaners, vendors and holy men. There is a small kiosk just outside the gate where you can leave your shoes; you will be given a token. There does not appear to... More

Very neat and well maintained Temple in Mylapore. The Teppakulam (Tank) with the back ground of Temple Gopuram is scenic to view from R.K Mutt Road. Regular devotional speeches are rendered by eminent persons. One such event is, speeches by Shri. Pitchai Swaminathan Iyer, who used to deliver speeches mostly on Shri. Mahaa Periyavaa at least 4 times in a... More

Amazing architectures, but beware with the guide who has the possibility of deceiving you on higher guide fees at the end of the tour. You can definitely enjoy the temple without a guide. If you want to hire a guide, please fix the fee and make it clear before the tour. A side note, be careful of your belongings as... More
