The Deer Park is a hidden attraction in the majestic planned city of Jaipur, not much popular except for the romantic walkers and dating couples. Some do drop with their young kids to show permanent inhabitants of the park - ducks and deer. Deer gets the fame and ducks duck with no grudge!
For us, it was an attraction, peaceful and well maintained, from the outskirts of the city - new development but in a hotch-potch manner. The 'D' shaped park with deer and ducks reflects the imagination of the architect, the horticulturist and the developer. Excellent concept!
We enjoyed being there for a while with teenager children who remembered theme gardens they visited in USA during their last year's visit. Of course, they too wished a better maintenance and continued refinement.
Sad we felt that being a Sunday evening, the local crowd was almost missing - the entrance being free. All environmentalists stayed in their cool homes. We were happy that we were there and in our next excursion, we will hunt for another green location.

Had a short stroll through this park late in the afternoon and enjoyed seeing families with children having fun. Lots of deer as well as monkeys but nothing came too close. Some good shade on the pathways too. Good to get some air even if it is not all that fresh from the city.

Spent a lazy evening in this park. It does not attract a lot of public and hence, you can really enjoy seeing the deers and enjoying the overall connect with the nature here.

If you are in Jaipur and have kids with you who love animals then this attraction can be a good place for you. Here you can watch a lots of Chital / Cheetal deers (Axis axis). The place is very close to Western Gate of Secretariat, Statue Circle and B.M. Bila Planetarium. There are a few restaurants close by including Cafe Coffee day, Dhaba.com. The place is owned by Department of Forest and is close to a Garden known as Ashok Vihar. If you have spare time then you may include it in your itinerary.
