Mr Ajay Kunwar, our contact at Ashoka, devised a 10-day private tour through Gujarat according to our wishes: in a good private car with a responsible driver, staying preferably in heritage hotels - a mixture of 3 stars and up, with swimming pool - and an emphasis on getting to know the heritage architecture and Gujarat’s culture and nature.
Ajay communicated correctly and promptly via mail and Whatsapp. We received a detailed program well in advance. A few days prior to the start of our Gujarat tour Ajay visited us at our hotel in Jaipur with all the necessary documents and information and took all the time needed to answer whatever question we still wanted to ask.
The tour included a.o. Champaner, Palitana, Vanakbara fishing Village, Diu, Patan, a short safari in the Little Rann of Kutch area and a guided heritage tour of Ahmedabad.
Our driver drove safely through the hectic Indian traffic, stopping whenever we wanted and providing quality stops for our lunches and some information on the sights.
Highlights included the Unesco world heritage sites Ahmedabad, Champaner Archeological park and the Ran Ki Vav stepwell in Patan, as well as our stays in some of the most beautiful heritage hotels, formerly palaces of maharajas, and even, during a relaxed evening stroll, having an unplanned casual talk with royalty (Vikram, the son of the last maharaja of Jambughoda, and his wife) on their estate.
We enjoyed a lovely hasslefree tour. One improvement would have made our experience absolutely perfect: the English of our driver was very limited, which made communication at times somewhat difficult, especially on moments when for reasons of renovation or public festivities some of the scheduled sights were (unexpectedly) closed.
Ashoka Holidays proved to be a trustworthy organization, which I would happily recommend for your holidays in India.

We booked our tour of Amritsar and Himachal Pradesh with Ashoka Holidays. The tour was planned to our needs and the hotels booked were perfect. The driver (Sunil) was amazing and made our travels safe through the monsoon rains. Would definitely recommend booking with Ashoka Holidays. Hope to do it again soon.

Went for a super family trip to Agra planned by Ashoka holidays. Right from booking the hotel, the tempo traveler (12 seater), finding us a local guide for Taj Mahal- they looked after everything. We stayed at Jaypee Palace and Convention Centre, a lovely property with exceptional staff and service.

We made a 2-week family trip to Ladakh and Rajastan (plus Taj Mahal). Ashoka helped us schedule the itinerary and provided cars and drivers. Our driver in Ladakh, Skarma (aka "Skarma the funtastic driver"), was incredibly skilled and safely took us to some of the remotest and beautiful parts of Ladakh. The other driver, Chain Singh, took us from Delhi to Agra, Jaipur and back to Delhi, enduring long drives through heavy monsoon rains. His humour and entertaining conversation, and his good advice, were precious to us. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and we definitely recommend Ashoka for a family vacation in India.

We had an amazing time in Jaipur thanks to Ashoka travels. They planned it to the tee and our family of four had a great time. Highly recommend their guide who came with us explaining every little detail.

Having had a very positive experience using Ashoka Holidays to put together my 'Test cricket' tour a decade ago, for my February-March'23 holiday, I did not even consider any other holiday/tour operator.
The main features of my tour were the 3rd and 4th INDIA v AUSTRALIA
Tests in Indore # and Ahmedabad, and the 1st INDIA v AUSTRALIA One-Day International in Mumbai. [ Ashoka Holidays dealt efficiently with the 'last minute' change of venue for the 3rd Test from Dharamsala to Indore.]
Ashoka Holidays selected pleasing, top quality hotels in all three cities; Effotel by Sayaji, in Indore, Hotel Fortune Park, in Ahmedabad and the Fariyas, in Mumbai, where the staff were all welcoming and attentive, and the service was 'spot-on'.
They arranged for the necessary transfers, for the match tickets and important documents to be handed to me in each city, and monitored my itinerary and movements and kept in contact throughout.
Also, they were quick to point out that I was due a refund, as the domestic Mumbai -> Indore flight was cheaper than the original Mumbai -> Dharamsala flight, and ensured that the refund was handed to me
on my return to Mumbai. # SEE ABOVE
If I return to India for any type of holiday, I would go straight to Ashoka
Holidays and not bother with shopping around.

Ashoka Travels have always been very good from the onset when one gets in touch with them re the quotation of a tour. This time we as a family took a tour to explore Varanasi and Kolkata.
Ajay Sakarwal has been very supportive throughout from the onset of scheduling the tour to the time when the tour took place. The service provided by Ashoka travel is second to none.
If I can start from the beginning , Ajay communicates well and his email layout when sending the quotation is very detailed. He writes his email in such away that its makes it easier to follow. Detailed and Professionally layed out . Attentional to detail.
I have had the pleasure of having Ashoka travels organise quite a few of my tours and have always had a good experience when Ajay has Organised it all.
Even this time the experience we had was excellent. Ajay was in touch throughout. he kept me informed of all the contacts of the Taxi drivers, the Tour guide. He went to the extent of sorting the boarding passes for all the internal flights we took.
The hotels were well informed of our requirements.
Ajay goes an extra mile to ensure ones requirements are fully met. He also actions any issues straightaway and ensures we have a smooth experience.
Recommend Ashoka travels and will continue to utilise their expert services.
We as a family made great memories and look forward to the next experience.

My favorite part of the trip was visiting all the different historical places in India. My tip for future visitors is that they should be prepared to experience something they haven't experienced ever before because this place is amazing.
