- Lauren B64 contributionsGood market, lots to see !I preferred looking around and shopping here compared to other markets in Jaipur (near Hawa Mahal etc). We went early morning and not too many around and was easier to walk around and get around shop keepers trying to get you in their shop. Lots of items to see and we bargained a little bit but items are already quite reasonable anyway. We got a tuk tuk from our hotel who waited at the same spot for us after an hour. Wish I had have had more time to have a look around.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 20 January 2024

It is ok to bargain a little. I bought a couple of colorful scarves and costume jewelry bracelets.Visited February 2024Travelled soloWritten 17 March 2024
- Paul S, a Dorset ladDorset, United Kingdom359 contributionsGreat vibeA great bazaar that comes alive late in the day. At night the vide is truly frenetic! A real Indian buzz. You’ll be invited into every shop you walk past, but hey, that’s all part of the Indian experience. 🙂Visited April 2024Travelled soloWritten 5 April 2024
- Lakshmi BiradarBengaluru, India912 contributionsColour ful market , good for shoppingMust visit shopping area during your trip to Jaipur. All the shops are colourfull with various varieties of cloths, bags, joothis, accessories. One tip to tourists: always start the bargaining price from 1/3rd of price coated by shop keeper. We did end up paying very high for few items.Visited May 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 6 April 2024
- SweetraUnited States291 contributionsAwesome FindsI’d found out about this bazaar before our trip to India. It was so worth it. The number of colorful items on display was amazing. The shopkeepers were fun and most spoke very well English. We arrived at 10 AM so they weren’t all yet open but we stayed until about 2 PM anyway! They all wanted to make deals and invited us into their shops. They were very easy going and not upset if you didn’t buy anything. They all kept saying looking is free. We loved their attitude and friendliness. Some were a little pushy to go inside but honestly toward the end, we weren’t looking or talking to the ones who were just sitting looking at their phones or inside their stores. The ones who wanted us were the ones who would give us a good price. It was an excellent experience and we recommend it. We didn’t buy anything in Lajpat Nagar but we were successful here and loved all the colors!Visited April 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 10 April 2024

Right in the centre of the city this market place is known as Bapu Bazar. There are hundreds of shops on both sides of the road. You get everything you want outfits/clothes for men, women and children. These shops are filled with tourists so I am sure pricing will be high.
There are a few restaurants as well so it's easy to take a break while shopping.
I was there on the weekday and the place was pretty crowded.

This is a nice city market in the old city of Jaipur . Actually the shops are located under the colonnades of the old wall of the city . Clothes , art , Indian fashion , bed sheets, jewelry, very colorful . Bargaining is the name of the game here .

The market is quite big and very crowded. You will find all sorts of things such as jewelry, clothing and souvenirs. The quality is ranged from good to cheap & junkie. We did not enjoy shopping here as the sellers were very pushy and persistent. Once you touch their products, they would not let you go, so scary! But it is still a nice place to walk around and "window" shopping.

We were luck to spot Gaaso Collaction shop #139 in Bapu Bazar jaipur. Where Mr. Manish has helped us to find right dresses to take gifts to family members. I am writing this review after sharing the gifts within the family & everybody liked the material & latest fashion.
Before to visit Bapu Bazar we were a bit skeptical as people were saying it's a tourist bazar where will be over charged & not get the quality. But I would say visit to experience yourself.
Shree Prakesh Prints shop- #106 where we did find real good collection of block print bedsheets & famous jaipur razai. ✌

Loved the Bapu Bazaar yesterday. It was not as crowded as the cultural sites, and none of the undesirables you find there.
If you are in the market for pashmina scarves, sarees, or sulvars, you can definitely trust the guys in stall 20. We spent an hour with them and they are kind, not pushy, and showed us hundreds of different items. They also speak great English and ended about 25% under the first quote, but you have to be able to bargain. Would definitely do it again.
Sorry if I butchered the spellings. Safe travels!!

If you have not visited Bappu Bazar while in Jaipur, your trip might be incomplete. An array of shops are lined in a symmetrical manner selling local arts, crafts, accessories, clothes and food items. Bargaining skills are a must. Location is right in middle of city, very close by to Jaipur Railway Station. Do visit and have good shopping experience.

Probably the best bazaar to spend a few hours shopping. Literally hundreds of small shops, that you can walk along in the shade on a narrow, but safe footpath, away from cars and motorcycles. Although there are a few tourists, the market is focused on locals. You are in India, so bargain.

This is one of the popular markets in Jaipur and appears to be on the list of every tour guide. It is in the heart of ‘pink city’. Here you can find all the usual things like the most colourful textiles, handicrafts, brass works, footwear and precious stones which Jaipur is famous for. This market is also famous for ‘mojri’, the Indian sandals. If you are buying, remember you are expected to bargain.

Gostaria de saber a historia do bazar. Se foi criado por mercadores e depois construido para abriga-los ou se foi planejado como espaço de vendas e posteriormente ocupado pelos comerciantes. Como ele surgiu?
