Tripolia bazaar got its name from Tripoli which means three gates. It is one of the oldest and busiest markets of Jaipur. Its open from Monday to Saturday till 2000 hrs. However few shops are open on Sunday as well. There is too much of hustle bustle in this market. It gives the glimpse of the ethnic life of Jaipur. This market displays artefacts and utensils mainly along with grocery items. One can expect to come across some shops of carpets and jewellery. Its recommended to use bargaining skills to get the best price. Traffic and parking is a big problem so its recommend to use cabs. Best time to visit is afternoon as it gets a lot crowded in the evening hours.

Good shopping street right in the heart of downtown Jaipur. There are a variety of stores to purchase Indian goods, especially bangles and saris. The location makes it within minutes walking distance from major city attractions like the City Palace Museum. Definitely recommend for anyone wanting to do window shopping and bargain for Indian goods. The area can get quite busy during the day.

Our guide took us for a stroll through the sarees and bangles markets. It was great. The stores cater to locals, so, no one (i.e., no hawkers) bothered us. We got to see how local ladies shop for sarees and bangles. It was an amazing experience for us.

Tripolia Bazaar is one of the most busy markets/streets in Jaipur. It is mainly for local people. But walking here is a good activity if you like to see the local life. On one corner of the market there are several shops which only sell steel/copper/brass utensils. On other sides of the market, there are hundreds of shops of daily utilities, household items, savory and sweets, kachori shops, tea stalls, gaemtn shops.....the list is big. To get a feel of the walled city, a walk is a good idea here. On the square (toward badi chopad), there is Tripolia Gate which one can easily see due to its off white color in contrast to oink color of other buildings. This is one of the gates of the City Palace. Only Royal family can use this gate. On festivals, there are processions (like Teej or Gangaur) which are organized here.

We had a great time at the Tripolia Bazar. It felt like the real Jaipur. Great local treasures. The vendors were all pleasant and the streets were clean.

Definitely recommend heading here when visiting Jaipur. Very close to many of the tourist attractions based in the centre of Jaipur. So many different shops selling a massive range of item such as souvenirs, bangles, clothing, etc. Could easily have spent hours here!

I went here when the Rajasthani festival of Teej was being celebrated.

It was wonderful. Crowds had gathered to witness the celebration. Processesions were taken out on streets. It was decorated and auspicious prayers we're carried out. Wonderful scene to watch. Colourful facade was encompassing the whole area
