We visited Jhalana Leopard Park for morning safari from 6:45 AM to 9:15 AM. We spotted deers, beautiful peacocks, different types of birds. Leopard was spotted but it was very far away and was visible through binoculars only. The driver cum guide told us that there are 30+ leopards and their sighting chances are very high in this park. The most amazing thing about this forest i felt is the landscape, very different from other national parks/sanctuaries.
Booking : Booking online is advisable as there are very few seats and at the counter for current booking the chances are minimal. The website for online booking is : fmdss.forest.rajasthan.gov.in
Accommodation : All the hotels/resorts are little far away like 3 to 4 kms but if you are looking for a accommodation very near to the Safari Park ,you can book an AirBNB which is just 5 to 7 minutes walking and is a very good option especially for morning safari. Nearby there is one such option available. They have place for 1 or 2 people as well as a hall for group of 5 to 6 people. Restaurant options are also limited nearby, if you request the host at the AirBnb, they can make delicious home cooked Indian Lunch & Dinner at very reasonable cost.
Important Points : (1) If you are taking morning safari, please collect the boarding pass around 6:15 AM from the counter. This needs to be done in case of online booking also. If you have taken evening safari, you need collect boarding pass around 2:30 PM.
(2) Drivers are playing two roles both of guide cum driver. Hence, they are accommodating 7 people in a gypsy, added advantage if you are a big group.
(3) There are three zones in the park but you don't get to choose which zone you visit , they take you as per their information of recent leopard sighting. In our safari, we visited two zones.
(4) Infrastructure & Administration is basic and needs lot of improvement & alignment but no doubt this place is getting it's share of popularity day by day.

We visited this place in the end of January and went for the evening slot. We booked a gypsy online through WOW. But found out later that it was cheaper there at the ticket counter. However, that would require you to reach early and book as per availability of the gypsy that day. The forest is spread over in area of around 20 square kilometers. The driver is the guide so you dont pay additionally for hiring one. He was quite courteous and knowledgeable. The person had amazing driving skills and it was a result of his excellent offroading skills that we spotted the leopard in time. The other birds and animals that we saw were tiger birds, seven sisters ,baboons, blue bulls, spotted deers and many peacocks. Then he drove us to the sunset point which was at a little height. Definently dont regret being there. Never thought would spot a leopard so close to an industrial area.

We didn’t saw much animals. We only saw a few paws, an owl, a few deers and monkeys.
They did there best to find the leopards and the tigers, but after 2 hours of looking for them it isn’t much fun anymore. We know it is the nature and wildlife. A thing what me the most bothers is that they let us pay 700rs each. And the student price is normal 363rs. When I said that I was a student, he said it is only for Indian students. Not nice at all. I got the student discount by the amjer fort. So they only want your money.
Tip: take a tuk tuk and go on yourself to the park. It will you cost from the city near by “new gate” 150 rs one way.
We pay a total amount of 1700 rs together for the Safari and the tuk tuk. That is €22,00

An experience unlike any other! We were so thrilled to have seen Leopards within 10 minutes of entering the park preserve. Not only did we see leopards, but love leopards! A gorgeous male and female couple engaged in love making right before our very eyes. Our driver, Ganesh, was tipped off by another gypsy jeep driver of this rare sighting. We parked about 25 meters from this amorous pair romping, mounting, huffing and biting: all the lovemaking skills on full display. I could hardly contain my excitement. This went on for about 30 minutes. We captured quite a few great photos and videos with our iPhones. Our wonderful guide, Rohit, was excited as we were. Seeing the leopards mating in the 4:30 afternoon light is somewhat unusual. But the frisky female feline and moody male were not bothered about the spectators watching under the full light of the day. The engaged in 3 episodes, whereby the male would exhaust himself and roll back to recharge. Meanwhile the female, her name Nathwaali, 10 years of age, would roll and her back, legs up, tail whipping as a flirtatious gesture. She tried seducing him by encircling his lazy highness again and again. Bahadur was her aim, this handsome 7 year old fellow. Eventually they went at it again. One could call her a ‘cougar’ for courting a younger guy, but we know she’s a frisky leopard! What a divine sight!
Our tour leader Rohit, who operates all the safari expeditions at Jhalana, was very knowledgeable of all the wildlife including Blue Bulls, brown fox, spotted owlet, peacocks, Rufous tree pies, Seven Sisters, Oriental magpies, mongoose, longoril, jack rabbit and many others as well. No shortage of wild life to see! We saw Asia's largest antelope: the Blue Bull, both males and females. He understands the terrain thoroughly. I’d highly recommend him as a guide to enhance the experience. Our driver, Ganesh made it feel like the real thrill of the hunt by careening down the dirt roads with a hot pursuit driving style. It was exciting and like being on an amusement park ride but much better, as this is not a zoo but hundreds of acres of wildcat wilderness.
I give this park an A+ rating, for not only everything I just described, but also for attracting Bollywood actors as well. We spotted Sanjay Dutt, who according to recent gossip, is sort of a wild guy himself.

Our visit to the Jhalana Leopard sanctuary in Jaipur with Mr Sumit Juneja of Jhalana Leopard Safari as our guide was the highlight of our stay in the city.
Sumit’s passion for wildlife and conservation is evident in his choice of vocation.
This sanctuary is quite small by reserve standards. It is so heartening to see such a place almost in the heart of the city. The place supports a population of between 35-40 leopards.
It is advisable to take a half day safari (if one has the time), and is a wildlife enthusiast as leopards are probably the most reclusive of the big cats. One should accordingly carry packed food for the safari.
We were fortunate in getting two sightings, one of them, just several feet from our jeep.
I would strongly recommend that anyone visiting Jaipur to take the time to visit Jhalana, and come away with amazing memories (if one is lucky) of looking into the eyes of a wild leopard.

My two visits to Jaipur have only been because of this safari. As we all know the the leopard is one of the elusive of all big cats, this is one park where you have a good possibility of spotting the big cat. Infact during the first visit in September 2018 I was lucky to click the big cat for well over an hour. During the second time, I was not that lucky, even though I did spot one. It's a nice park for a leopard safari but needs more maintenance. Also the driver of the gypsy doubles up as your guide. While most drivers/guides I have been with at the park are knowledgeable enough not only about the Leopard but also about other birds and animals found in the park. On one ocassion I was stuck with a driver who knew only about the leopard and nothing else. Plus he was slow in reacting. You may come across such situations, in any park but considering the high entry fee that's charged I was not wrong in expecting a little bit more finesse in facilities. Also when going for the safari please be on time. The park authorities are very particular about the entry and exit timings. Always book your safari in advance. Also use the restroom before going for a safari. There are no facilities to use the restroom in the middle of the safari.

We were absolutely amazed to see such a habitat for Leopards in the midst of Jaipur city. It's a small area of 20-22 sq kms with almost 40-45 leopards.
We contacted team TravelGleam Wild who pushed us to visit this place and added 2 days for Jhalana along with safaris in Sariska.
Sourabh (9958993316 , 9899954675) was able to book our exclusive gypsies and we sighted leopard on each and every safari (3 in total), the highlight was the queen of Jhalana, Flora.
Sourabh and his team deserves an appreciation for adding Jhalana to our itinerary and now it will be always on our list whenever we visit to the wildlife of Rajasthan

Upon arrival at the Jhalana Safari Park, we were transferred from our group tour bus to 4x4 Jeep vehicles to traverse the natural scenery of the Park. Everyone in our group was hopeful that we can get the opportunity to see some Leopards, which is the specialty of this Park. The scenery within the Park is nice and we were able to see wild Grey Langur monkies, Nilgai Antelopes, peacocks, wild Francolin birds, but no Leopards. We did, however, see fresh Leopard tracks on the soft ground areas but not the animals themselves.
Although there was no guarantee that we would be able to see the Leopards in the wild, it was somewhat a feeling of disappointment.
At the conclusion of the Jeep excursion, everyone got to go inside the Park Visitor Center building where they did have some very nice photos of some of the Leopards that were found in the Park - some visual proof that these animals do exist in the Park! The photos in the Visitor Center were very nice - it is worthwhile to see the photos here.

With Jhalana Leopard Safari Park, Jaipur has now another offering for tourists in addition to the rich cultural heritage of India. Located within city limits, in Malviya Nagar area, this park is home to many leopards and other wild animals. Leopard sightings are common and thanks to the dedicated staff of the park who leave no chance of getting a leopard spotted for the visitors. We took 3 safari and sighted leopards in all 3 of them.
It is advisable to do the advanced booking for safari as slots might not be available on the spot. We contacted Travelgleam Wild (9958993316 , 9899954675) for our bookings. Mr. Saurabh helped us with the safari bookings and the process was hassle free and smooth.
The booking confirmation slip along with your Id proofs is all you need at the gates. Ample parking space available in the park. I would also recommend to reach at the gates 10 mins prior to start of safari.

We didn't know what to expect about a safari this close to a city like Jaipur. But we had a really good experience there, even if we couldn't see a leopard this time. We had the chance to see a lot of other wild animals in a quiet jungle at sunrise. We recommand TravelGleam Wild (9958993316 , 9899954675) for the booking as everything went very well. Just think that you have to pay before so take an Indian simcard before using Gpay or Paytm or check the transfer fees with your bank.
Have a good time there ! 👍

Going to jhalana morning safari, what is cost for 4 people,is it worth visit,is it natural park or enclosed
Written 18 September 2022
Well, the main attraction of the park are leopards unless you are keen on admiring other animals and birds. Sighting a leopard is a matter of chance.
I would recommend you to get in touch with someone who could organize tickets for you beforehand; as the quota may exhaust soon for the day due to influx and reservations. That person would be the best to quote you a price for park tickets. Visitors tour the park in open gypsies (6 person occupancy including driver) which you can hire either in full or partial. The cost depends on the same.

Hi, sally1832016. What would you like to know about this attraction? We are visiting this part of India next February and would be interested in a trip to Jhalana. to see the wildlife. Please could you advise which company and guide would you recommend to use. we are particularly interested in seeing striped Hyena, which I know are quite difficult to see. Just wondering if there is a guide who would be more likely to help you spot the Hyena rather than the Leopard. Any information or advise would be greatly appreciated. Sally
