- Frederick H5 contributionsYou will love it!You will love it!.. .. Is what we was told by Chef Lokesh as we prepped the food, and we certainly did! We have both attended numerous cooking classes over the world, and this by far was the best we have attended. Both in terms of the attention of Chef Lokesh, but also the outcome of food! We tried Option 7, and our favourite meal (not just here but of our whole Indian trip) was the Chicken Soweta. All ingredients were freshly grounded in front of us, and the flavour was incredible. Not only did we enjoy the cooking and learning process, but we had a fantastic time exchanging stories over food together with the family. We went in as students/teacher but left as friends. I highly recommend this activity for anyone who loves Indian food and wants to learn how to easily make some local Indian dishes. Thank you so much for welcoming us into your home and teaching us these skills! When back in Jaipur we will certainly be back! - Adventure62839362292Gold Coast, Australia1 contributionAmazing experience in a lovely family setting! Our cooking class with Chef Lokesh was amazing. We learned a lot about the different spices used in Rajistani cooking and cooked two stunning dishes, as well as a beautiful desert. Everything was superb, and we loved the food. The only thing we found was that we had eaten too much food earlier in the day and so we were not able to eat it all! It was lovely also to sit with Lokesh and his wife after we had cooked, to eat the food and to chat. We wish we could have stayed longer, and had more room to eat more food! We had a fantastic evening and would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to learn about rajistani good and enjoy some amazing food with some lovely people. Thanks for our lesson, we look forward to trying what we learned when we get home! Matt and Ingrid.Good Day Matt And Ingrid , Thank you very much for the wonderful words for us . These wonderful lines would certainly help us in improving the quality of food we offer. we always tries to teach the best of our knowledge regarding the food and the Indian culture. Once again I thank you the review. HAPPY COOKING !!! - James RSevenoaks, United Kingdom11 contributionsThank you Chef Lokesh! If you want to learn more about Indian food and cooking, look no further than this experience! My partner and I had an extra day in Jaipur and found Chef Lokesh’s lesson in the Lonely Planet guide. We booked over the phone on Wednesday and were cooking on the Friday morning! You can select from 7 menus to cook and Chef Lokesh guides you through each step, while teaching you about the ingredients along the way. We booked a morning slot so prepared the food between 11am and 1pm before enjoying the fruits of our labour with Chef Lokesh and his wife. You also receive a detailed pack of menus for each item to take home - along with anything you cannot eat there! This genuinely was a highlight of our trip to Jaipur and India.Visited September 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 27 September 2024

- Henna MWorld10 contributionsA fantastic cooking class… a must when in Jaipur! We had a lovely afternoon with Chef Lokesh and his wife Geetika having a cooking class for four. Then menu included a range of dishes from snacks, mains and through to dessert. We really enjoyed learning from Chef Lokesh who had a lot of knowledge and is really engaging. Chef Lokesh has so much experience cooking in different restaurants around the world including the Crown Prince of Dubai and the Bahraini Prime Minster … so you know you’ll be in good hands! The kitchen and all utensils used were clean, all the vegetables are fresh as Chef Lokesh gets them from the market in the morning and bottled water was used in all the recipes. You receive a pack with all the recipes and ingredients so you can recreate the recipes at home (which is readily available from shops in the U.K.). During the class we had tastings throughout, at the end of making all the wonderful food, we sat down in their dining room to eat together which was a really nice touch. We even had loads of food to take away with us, so make sure you come hungry! We loved this experience and would highly recommend if you are in Jaipur. - Pioneer6653165 contributionsAn Unforgettable Rajasthani Cooking Experience with Chef LokeshOur time with Chef Lokesh and his wife was one of the highlights of our trip to Jaipur. They welcomed us with incredible warmth and guided us through the preparation of a traditional Rajasthani feast. It was a hands-on experience where we learned not just how to cook, but also about the rich culinary heritage of Rajasthan. The meal was a delightful spread of both non-vegetarian and vegetarian dishes, featuring a variety of flavorful main courses, fresh vegetables, and handmade breads. The meat dishes were particularly outstanding, packed with authentic spices and cooked to perfection. We also thoroughly enjoyed making the breads and indulging in a delicious dessert to finish the meal. Beyond the food, what made the experience truly special was Chef Lokesh’s hospitality and expertise. He shared invaluable tips on Indian cooking, making the process both educational and enjoyable. His passion for food was evident, and he made sure we felt comfortable and engaged throughout. Whether you’re a family, a couple, or simply a food enthusiast looking to immerse yourself in Indian cuisine, we highly recommend this experience. It’s the perfect way to connect with local culture, learn new skills, and, most importantly, enjoy an unforgettable meal!Visited January 2025Travelled with familyWritten 31 January 2025

Getting to learn some Indian cooking techniques with Chef Lokesh was such a privilege. Lokesh has been a professional chef for his whole career and it really shows. My fiance and I are fairly familiar with Indian cuisine and spices but it was Lokesh' techniques which were especially illuminating. He did a great job of demonstrating techniques a few times before handing them off to us to try. I can't recommend his class enough.

If you're thinking of doing a cooking class in Jaipur, this one is fantastic! You will be greeted by Lokesh and his wife Gitika who make you feel right at home as if you have lifelong friends in Jaipur. Be sure to give yourself a few extra minutes to get over there if you're coming from the center of the city, but otherwise it's easy to find. Lokesh is very talented and knowledgeable and makes Indian cuisine approachable for the enthusiastic foreign cook. The meal was delicious and was enjoyed in a very relaxed, familial environment. Lokesh and Gitika- we haven't forgotten you and that delicious naan!

I have lived in Jaipur for 4 years now and I have regularly visited Chef Lokesh for one of his amazing cookery classes. He's so good at explaining everything - an introduction to Indian cooking, the different spices, different cooking methods, he's clearly a very knowledgable man…. and the food is seriously out of this world!
Overall a really enjoyable cookery experience, fantastic host, and also now a friend too. Thoroughly recommended, just remember to start the class with a lovely cup of masala chai! Enjoy.

I came here alone to do a cooking class with Varun and his wife Payal and I had the right to a private lesson!
They have already been present before, Payal calls you back, responds very quickly by WhatsApp and email which is already pleasant. Then once there, she comes out to welcome you, a big smile on her face.
The Radjastan Specialties course is simply awesome! They listen to your wishes if you want to make menu changes to add or remove dishes. For example, I wanted to learn how to make Gulab Jamum and I did!
All questions are answered, patience is required, smiles and kindness too.
Then we ended up eating with them as a family! Fascinating and open discussions!
What more can I say, a superb experience from start to finish!
I can only highly recommend these cooking classes which are a delight!
The only thing to know is, will it be the same once we return to the country, suspense… 😊

Chef Lokesh and his wife Gitika are completely warm, wonderful and welcoming. I immediately was made to feel at home at their place in Jaipur. Chef Lokesh has a full professional kitchen, fully outfitted for amateur and advanced cooking classes. Chef has traveled and worked around the Shiek world and has decades of global experience in various cuisines as well as high end establishments. I very much wanted to learn traditional clay pot cooking that has been practiced for hundred if not thousands of years in Rajasthan. Chef was super responsive to my requests. His operation is very professional and he provided me with clear written recipes and cooking instructions as a resources to take home. After hours of in depth learning and cooking easy as well as complex dishes, we sat down to a feast that was only made more perfect by the presence of the family dog who is a loving gentle giant. Can’t wait to get home and get cooking!

This cooking class is wonderful! The best food we've had in India so far. We cooked menu no. 3 with dal. Chef Lokesh showed us the fine little tricks of Indian cuisine.
I would recommend this course to my nearest and dearest. And we will gladly repeat it. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

I was able to call in the morning and have a private lesson that evening for dinner. I chose Menu option 1 and made chai, tamarind chutney, a starter, a rice dish, 2 main dishes, a desert, and naan. Everything was clean and all the food was made from scratch from fresh ingredients and spices, including the paneer! The hosts were so nice and we ate the food together after. I got a packet to take home to help me remember what we did. I can't wait to make not only the dishes at home, but also to incorporate some of the additional skills I was able to pick up, like how I can keep dried tamarinds for many months and make fresh chutney as I need it, rather than buying tamarind paste at the store that will go bad quickly. Overall, totally recommend the class and I would like to go back and try a different menu if I have time.
Update: I went back for a second class the morning before my train. They allowed me to start half an hour early and helped my catch an uber to my train. And packed up the leftover food for me to take on the train. I chose menu #4, but asked to replace the default dessert (gulab jamun) with halwa. They had never taught it before and it's not on any of their menus but they happily agreed to teach me. Also when we were making it, the recipe calls for ghee at the end but we opted to leave it out and I think the dish was so much better without it! They were so accomodating and I'm glad I went back!

My friend Jason and I had a very fun and instructive cooking class with Chef Lokesh Mathur. He taught us many delicious Indian dishes, such as samosas, butter paneer masala, vegetable pulao and garlic naan. As the chef for many years of a big hotel belonging to the prime minister, he has so much knowledge and knew a lot of effective cooking methods that I can definitely incorporate in my own cooking as well as the recipes he taught us. Overall it was a lovely evening, very professional class. I highly recommend learning Indian cooking here.

My husband and I were hosted by Lokesh and his wife in their lovely home. The couple was more than gracious and very kind and warm. Lokesh used very fresh local ingredients (even harvesting vegetables and herbs from the garden). He taught us hands on how to make classic Indian food that is possible in my own kitchen. I cannot wait to return to the US and try the recipes! After food preparations we dined with our hosts in their dining room. We had a wonderful time sharing professional and personal histories. We certainly enjoyed their sweet dog too. We were humbled by their teachings and hospitality. A must do when in Jaipur.

Cooking with Chef Lokesh was such a wholesome experience. For a start he gives you a document with all the recipes so you are not stressing out taking notes during the class. All the ingredients are fresh and made from scratch and he is also gives you tips on how to store prepared sauces, etc. The highlight for us was learning how to make our own paneer and naans and how friendly and relaxed the class was. Not only was the cooking amazing but Chef Lokesh and his wife are such wonderful human beings and we shared travel stories and memories over dinner. Saying this is a must do in Jaipur is an understatement, you just can't leave without experiencing this!
