We passed through this gate on more than one occasion, while touring Jaipur. The old city of Jaipur with its pink buildings in Rajasthani style, beautifully laid out with its shops is truly impressive. I would have loved to explore it by foot, but time constraints and the hot weather made it impossible.

Tick this off your lift as you will pass by to enter the city. If you want a close up look then there is space for cars to park near by. Its an imposing structure with nice painting all round. Though some of the paintwork has peeled off. If you stop by be prepared for the traffic and chaos all round. Absolute madness all round.

Great history
Beautiful monument
Tick this one off on your tour around Jaipur in a tuk tuk which is the best way to see this as the traffic is mayhem!

When making the city tour through Jaipur we also passed this gate. Not very special for us, compared to what we already saw in other cities

Southern entrance to the old town of Jaipur. I think its smaller in comparison to Chand pol but comparatively less crowded too.

This attractive gate marks the southern limit of the walled city and is on the road to Ajmer. It is very decorative and has large enough secondary gates on either side to allow vehicles to pass through. It is very similar to the Sanganeri Gate (or Shiv Pol) which is also on the southern side.
The other two gates on the southern side are Ghat Gate (or Ram Pol) and New Gate (or Naya Pol). The latter is a relatively recent addition which was not part of the original city design of Maharajah Sawai Jai Singh II, but it does fit in pretty well with the design of the older gates (see my photo).

Ajmeri Gate is one of the beautiful gates of the old city of Jaipur. Unfortunately, there is usually heavy traffic there, so it's hard to appreciate it properly, but it's a place you are likely to see without making a point of it because of its location.

The gate beautiful and is reminiscent of the Pink City of Jaipur, it is beautiful but I won't say of it as a things to do or see in Jaipur.
It is entry of the Bapu Bazaar which is a huge shopping market and one can find almost everything here. So you can see it while visiting the market.

Parking is bit of a concern to take your car wisely
