Such a nice experience!

We found it hard to choose a tour option and finally decided on shopping. Our very lovely driver, Renu Sharma, arrived early to pick us up. We were happy to go along with Renu’s itinerary and we were taken to a variety of shops that I am sure we wouldn’t have come across on our own. We were definitely up for shopping that day and bought a variety of lovely things, that we hadn’t seen elsewhere, for ourselves and as gifts. I don’t think we would have come across these shops on our own. The majority of shops were run by various women’s groups and others stocked goods made by women’s and children’s groups. It was a really nice relaxing morning. Renu is obviously a skilful and safe driver, it was great to spend a morning in her delightful company. Renu and her rickshaw attracted such a lot of attention in our local area and Jaipur city centre, which made me think its not too well known by locals. She is a brilliant ambassador for this project which is well worth supporting. I wish Renu and the Pink Rickshaw Company all the best for the future and I hope they go from strength to strength

Please support these lovely ladies
Feb 2020
This was a great little trip. Our lady guide came to our hotel and drove is into town. We had a good ride round the streets and then she took us to morning worship at a temple which was a noisy, joyous and inclusive affair. We were welcomed very warmly. We went to the market as well and to a Chai tea stop. our guide was very sweet and really looked after us where it was crowded, guiding me by the arm. These lovely ladies are given a fair wage where before they would not have had work opportunities.

Great street food tour with Pink City Rickshaw Co!
Jan 2020
I was invited to join a street food tour with Paul, Tania and Vicky from the UK with Pink City Rickshaw Co and it was great! Over about 3 hours we enjoyed a classic lassi, vegetable samosas with dipping sauces, kulfi and a digestive, which was pretty interesting...Zooming around in a rickshaw was fun and it allowed us to see a lot of the old city. The ladies who drive on these tours are also pretty brave.

A Little Disappointing
Dec 2019 • Couples
We decided to book a tour with this group after reading about the great work they do supporting women in India. Unfortunately we were a little disappointed although some of this may have been to do with the type of tour we booked.

Having seen a number of the sights already we decided to book the half day shopping tour. Our driver Anita was very cheerful although she did turn up half and late ( could have been due to our hotel location) and did not offer any commentary during the tour leaving us to ourselves as we were driven from shop to shop. The shops were a mixed selection for buying fabrics, clothes, homewares and general tourist souvenirs. While quality was a bit of a mixed bag, the good thing was that none of the shops had any pushy vendors or haggling.

It was interesting to be driven around and to see how different the male drivers treated Anita to other male tuk tuk drivers. Unfortunately women drivers seem to be the exception and are treated as such so we were glad to support this enterprise.

I am sure that a tour of the more famous sights would involve a bit more participation from the guide and we would try them again although we’re a little disappointed with the overall tour we had.

Rickshaw tour
Sep 2019 • Couples
Brilliant tour of the sights of Jaipur. A little scary at first however well worth it to see a more authentic view of city life. The streets are busy but the driver is great at navigating the traffic.
Nice to see females starting to work in a male dominated industry.

Great Way to See the Sights of Jaipur!
Apr 2019 • Friends
Loved this group of drivers in their Pink City rickshaws. It's unusual to see female rickshaw or tuk tuk drivers, and we were delighted at this program which creates employment opportunity for women from low-income households, helping these ladies establish and run their own businesses.

They're safe drivers, and feisty and confident in the busy streets of Jaipur. Renu was friendly and cheerful, all smiles as she took us through the various city experiences, from morning worship at a temple, to the flower markets, and stopping to look at buildings like Hawa Mahal and Albert Hall.

We had a group of 4 rickshaws and as we wanted to know more about the various places we stopped at, we also hired an English-speaking local guide, who gave interesting information on the history and culture of this city. It was a great way for first-time visitors to get an overview of Jaipur, and it's a good idea to start early in the morning to beat the traffic and the heat.

Oh, and they're e-rickshaws too, which means they're eco friendly. Two thumbs up!

Great Heritage Tour with a Lovely Lady Driver
Mar 2019 • Couples
My wife and i were very pleased to book a heritage tour with the Pink City Rickshaw Company. We had read about this great initiative to give young ladies from the slums of Jaipur the chance to improve their whole standard of living by driving visitors around city to see the sights.

We had a lovely lady driver who not only amazed us with her tuk tuk driving skills but also showed us many of the sights the city has to offer.

It was a great experience , we totally recommend it, thank you Pink City Rickshaw Company.

What a wonderful experience!
Feb 2019 • Friends
We took the Food Trail tour of the Pink City Rickshaw company and we loved it. We visited small shops and eating places we would never have visited by ourselves, we had great sweets and snacks, and loved every minute. Our lovely lady drivers, mrs Basanta and mrs Rehka were experienced drivers, finding their way through the Jaipur traffic. We are very happy to support this viable and well organised social project!

Wake up to Jaipur tour
Feb 2019 • Solo
An inspiring initiative which I would highly recommended to anyone visiting Jaipur. I was in Jaipur on a work trip from Delhi and thoroughly enjoyed my 'Wake up to Jaipur tour', which I was able to fit in before work.

Great service, an interesting, well thought out tour and really nice to be driven around and expertly guided by Jyoti, my friendly and confident rickshaw hostess.

Before joining the Pink City Rickshaw Company, Jyoti, a widow, supported her two children and extended family by polishing gem stones at home for a meagre wage. She told me she never imagined that one day she would be driving a rickshaw and showing tourists the sights of Jaipur.

It was very funny to witness the surprised stares of passers by when they saw a lady at the wheel of the rickshaw - a rare sight in Jaipur, where rickshaw driving and the tourist industry remain largely male-dominated professions.

Thank you Jyoti and The Pink City Rickshaw Company for a great trip. I wish you every success in the future.

Great tour
Dec 2018 • Couples
We spent a morning being taken around Jaipur with the Pink City Rickshaw Company. It was a great and rewarding way to see all the key sites. We found the majority of our experiences in India to be male dominated so it was refreshing and welcoming to be looked after by a woman!

Thanks again for such a fun day. Would recommend for anyone in Jaipur as a better way to see the City.
