Truly authentic experience with beautiful big hearted family
I spent two incredible days with the lovely team at Bagru Studio. This is the first review I have ever written in my life and it truly deserves it! My head, heart, and soul was deeply touched by this experience. It is so much more that a block printing experience. You get to see and experience something you will not find anywhere else on this planet. The value is way beyond the price they charge and would happily do this experience again. In all honesty, I would like to come back to do the 5 day workshop. I am not an artist or a highly crafty person but this was pure joy! Endless gratitude

Excellent handmade block printing and mud printing experience.
Studio Bagru was more than I expected. Between the village walk visiting artists doing different parts of the printing process and being able to print an item to take home, this was fabulous. Next time, hoping to attend the 2 day workshop. Excellent experience, highly recommended to better understand the hand printing process and a quick peek into village life.

    Our favorite tour in India
Rajshree was fabulous! She was thorough in her explanations and very patient with my curious mind. We have taken many tours in India on this trip and our experience at Studio Bagru was our favorite. We will definitely be returning here in January with our group of 18 guests.

    Life changing experience
To learn as much as possible about this traditional craft, I decided to join a 4-day workshop where I had the opportunity to work on 5 different pieces. The workshop was led by Anup, and his family and Rajshree was here to help facilitate the exchanges. The whole experience was really enriching and gave me a lot of ideas for the future career I want to start. We stayed at Anup’s house for the 4 days, and it was fantastic. His family was incredibly welcoming, and the meals they prepared for us were delicious. The icing on the cake was getting to meet Anup's young daughter, a real cutie 😍

    Studio Bagru--Best Block Printing Experience
Looking for the best textile experience in the Jaipur area? This is it. We took the half day block printing class and it was everything I had hoped for. Starting with the tour, walking through the fields of drying fabrics, seeing the process and then getting to block print our own project. Rajshree (is delightful) and the family that run Studio Bagru are kind and helpful. Thank you for making my trip to Rajasthan complete. I'm in love with the cotton fabrics I purchased from you and my purse. I also appreciated the tip to try Cottons, we bought 4 dresses from them!

A 'must do' if visiting Jaipur!
I recently enjoyed a wonderful block printing workshop at Studio Bagru learning about the different block printing techniques and creating my own block printed scarfs! Being able to learn this craft hands on was the best way to understand this craft and seeing it all up close has given me a new perspective on the technique and the artisans work. I highly reccommend booking a workshop with this team if you visit Jaipur! The team were so warm and welcoming and it truly inspired me!

    Interesting Experience
We enjoyed visiting the village of Bagru close to Jaipur and seeing the process of the block printing. I most enjoyed walking around the village being shown the dying process and drying process of this centuries-old art. We also enjoyed creating our own unique items of clothing!

    Unforgettable experience at Studio Bagru
We have attended the 1-day workshop at Studio Bagru, what a fantastic experience ! We were first warmly welcome by Rajshree who stayed with us during the whole workshop. We had the chance to visit some parts of the village where craftsmen practice different steps in the block-printing process, amazing ! And then we've spent some time created our own block-printed garment (carpet / tote bag / scarf...), with craftsmen from Studio Bagru helping us. We were really touched by the kindness of everyone there and deeply impressed by the precision and patience this craft requires. To experience without hesitation ! Thanks again to Rajshree and her team (and a special thank for the exquisite local meal for lunch) ! Unforgettable memories from this day !

learning the art of block printing from traditional artisans
What a magnificent week I spent at Studio Bagru. From the organization to the actual doing, it was all perfectly executed. I found it to be one of the best experiences of my life. I have a fascination with fabric, and bearing witness to centuries of tradition and skills filled me with excitement. In this class you watch and then you do. I think it’s important to actually practice the techniques you learned, and here at Studio Bagru you get to put it all into action. I stayed for 4 days, and would’ve gladly stayed longer. I recommend doing more than 2 days to truly embed yourself and learn many different techniques. I’m already planning my return. Thank you so much Anup, Sushila, Damodar, Boonsm, Nivanya, and the magnificent Rajshree. My cup runneth over ♥️

We spent 3 days in Bagru doing a 2 day workshop and staying for a couple nights in the room situated beneath the studio.

The workshop started with a fascinating walking tour where you get an understanding of how every family in Bagru is connected to printing: we saw block carvers, washers, dyers and more…

Anup and his family all get involved to help you with your design and the printing! There are different pieces to choose from (scarf, bag, t shirt etc). It can feel a bit overwhelming and rushed if you don’t know exactly what you want to make!

Rajshree is on hand to help communicate your ideas and answer questions. She was easy to contact and sorted us out with the homestay and travel.

The room is inside the family home; very comfortable and warm. You are living very much with the family (sharing a washroom, eating dinner together etc) which is a unique experience. The homemade food is very delicious.

Would definitely recommend the 2 day workshop as you get to try the more traditional methods of Bagru and mud resist printing. These were our favourite pieces we made!

We thoroughly enjoyed learning the process from start to finish in the village community of Bagru. It was fascinating to see the different elements come together to create our products. Anoupe and his family were very patient and hospitable during our visit. Rajshree was also very friendly and accommodating with our wonderful experience that had. We loved the experience and would highly recommend them.
