Viren kept my attention throughout the whole duration of the tour. He sparked me with interesting stories, remarkable places and little details. Next to that, he brought awareness to the difference in context and culture for a European coming to India which made me feel very safe and confident. I learned a ton of new things in a very lightly and jokingly told way, while seeing them put in practice or putting them into practice myself. Would totally recommend doing a tour with Viren, thanks!

The trip to Dharavi was an eye opener. It broke so many myths and I really loved the passion and the deep knowledge that Viren had. The way he was able to bring everything to life for us was just amazing.. and all the details around the historic and political aspects on how things have evolved and why they are so was a great experience. Totally loved the trip and I am so grateful that we found Viren. He is just amazing, and was almost like a walking encyclopedia on Mumbai. Every aspect of the trip was authentic and we got to feel and experience Mumbai rather than just see it. Highly recommended and will definitely try and do another one next time we are here!

Viren is an exceptional tour guide. The tour itself was such an incredible experience, Viren's knowledge is outstanding, everything was well explained and you truly get a feel of what it's like to be a local. You gain such a deep understanding of the culture, people and various religions. I urge anyone who is in Mumbai to contact Viren for a tour, you won't regret it!

We, that's my guide for the day, who also happens to be my friend and I took a train to Jogeshwari and then an auto rickshaw to reach the Jogeshwari caves that are located off the Western Express Highway, and surrounded by encroachments. The caves can be accessed through a long flight of stairs into the main hall. It has many pillars and a Lingam at the end. Idols of Dattatreya, Hanuman, and Ganesh line the walls. Two relics of doormen also can be seen. The cave also has a murti and footprints of goddess Jogeshwari, whom the area is named after. The goddess is considered a Kuladevi by some Maharashtrians. Though it is in a dilapidated state yet it's worth a visit. Next we took the auto from Andheri and reached a place, which was once a drab hilltop slum area - The Asalpha village, which today has been transformed by a group of young volunteers with their paint and brushes and called as the 'Positano' of Mumbai. But what makes the art in Asalpha slum so special is that each mural reflects the beat of the city. You also get to see the breathtaking view of planes landing. The culmination of this fabulous trip was by travelling in the metro to Andheri. Million thanks to my friend and a polymath who showed me Mumbai, otherwise a hustling bustling city, in a very different light.
