Aksa is one of the least explored beaches in Mumbai. Its situated at one corner of the island city & its completely non commercialised unlike Juhu & Chowpatty beaches. The water here is much cleaner though. Amazing place for family picnic

The beach is away from the city and so attracts less crowds. And so, the waters are clear and the beach is quiet and pretty. You'd need a gps to find it though. And there's not much shelter from the sun nor much of places to eat. A few stalls with identical food (snacks actually) available. So either plan to eat elsewhere or carry food with you. The beach and the waters are clean and the sand is actually sand colored instead of the black color of Juhu beach. Worth spending no more than an hour here.

I visit this place in the 31st Dec2012.its in the evening when my wife want to go to bathroom, surprisingly there is no bathroom in this wide, beautiful beach. After a long search we find a place in the main road area, which you never called a bathroom,as the bathroom is totally in the issolated place.and very very dirty.Otherwise this beach is very beautiful, lonely and clean.
So if you plan for a trip in this beach then Bathroom facility for Ladies is a hectic thing for you.Hire a tent if you go in the morning with a mere charge of rs.100/- and enjoy the whole day with your loved one.Very lonely beach and no one will disturb you at all.

The overall trip at Madh Island was good. Aksa is like any other beach. For once, it was dirty and smelling of dry / rotten fish. Second, it didn't have any distinguishing feature to differentiate it from any other beach. Overall, pretty average as a beach

Pros:
- One of the cleanest beach in Mumbai
- Not crowded, unlike Juhu or Girgaum
- You can sit quietly for hours without any disturbance
- For a few hours you can be at peace with yourself and forget about the fast life in Mumbai....till you get stuck into a traffic jam at Malad on the way back home...
Cons:
- Dont venture into the sea; this beach is known for its sharp gradient and shifting sands
- Absence of a public toilet; there is one that is only partly constructed
