The Gateway to Mumbai

Has to be done! The queues were off putting but you can see a lot without having to go up close A stunning monument right on the river. Recommend combining with tea in the Taj

The police made a fence around the place and didn't let us go closer. A lot of photographers are there which bothered us. Such a messy and dirty place for a memorial place.

Put up to commemorate the visit of King George V at the turn of the 20th century. Even though India has long ago become independent they still have a sentimental attachment to British rule. This monument is revered by all visitors and lives caps.

It's a historical place to visit. Do visit Elephanta caves. The view of Taj Mahal hotel is good . One can spend about 1 hour there

Well secured attraction, but beware of photo vendors - there are way too many constantly asking for business. You can have a quiet sit-down on the benches by the waterfront.

Very nice monument, almost 100 years old to remember a visit of King George in India. A bit crowded, but nothing bad in India.

Great landmark in Mumbai to see. It's right on the water across from the beautiful Taj Mahal palace hotel.

Early morning it's not crowded, with people strolling around or saying prayers before the mayhem of the day starts. There is a serenity about the place and the intricate detail, beautiful.
