The grandeur and the attention to details of this monument can only be experienced in person. It is simply a beautiful piece of work. However, I don’t recommend specifically going to Colaba to see it, rather arrive early before your trip to the Elephanta caves...More

The Gateway of India is pretty, but if you go, see the other sites nearby...there are many good museums in the area, and the Taj Mahal Palace hotel is across the street and worth seeing. That area of Mumbai is lovelier and attracts visitors. My...More

You have to see this even if you spend only a few minutes. It's Mumbai's most famous monument. There are 1,000's of people visiting but that seems to add to the scene. The gate commemorates a visit by Queen Mary.

A tourist attraction that is also near the Taj Mahal Palace. Good to visit and take some pictures while there. It’s a busy area which is currently under renovation work so you can’t go near it. But ok to take pics from a distance away.

Beautiful place if you manage to go there in the morning, as there will be no crowd, cool environment and good light to click some beautiful pictures.

Great historical place to visit. However, the area needs to be cleaned up and needs to be more tourist friendly

Its location is unique...a tip of Mumbai and India...and aptly described by its name "Gateway of India". This has become a must see destination for all tourists into Mumbai, and a photo with this monument is treasured. The upkeep could be better. Boat rides are...More
