A very popular Tourist attraction. The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel is closeby. It is not possible to go to the Gateway of India Close.

You kind of have to. It's the icon of India. The best way to visit is to convince it with a boat tour to elephant island. Take your photos of our from the boat.

If you are in Mumbai you should visit the Gateway. Bustling tourist area but very impressive view. Can also pop into the Taj Hotel for a tour or high tea.

It’s nice to see it as it is historical, but the time it takes to get there I’m not sure it’s worth it if you are short on time. There are no tours or nothing of to see but the huge arched gateway.

Visited Gateway early morning for the first ferry to Elephanta Caves Island (Gharapuri) which we later realized begins at 8:30 AM. Several nervously giggling couples for their pre-wedding photo-shoot in the morning and foreign tourists in large groups.

Had the opportunity to visit this beautiful gateway. It is wonderful but the crowds that you actually have tto manoeuvre through and the traffic is a little hard to appreciate the wonders of the monument. Recommend that you see it best by harbour.

It’s the tourist central of the city with a liberal
dose of rich history, iconic eating and drinking
joints and artistic connections that have found
prominent mentions in Gregory
David Roberts’
Shantaram. Stroll down Colaba Causeway for kitschy
street shopping
bargains. Take a break at the many
