I was especially impressed by the High Court and train station buildings. - JanviMumbai, India1 contributionAn Awesome Night in MumbaiI had recent been to Monsoon Midnight cycling or Midnight Cycling Tour with Mischief Treks. This event was a totally awesome experience, its a good way to explore MUMBAI and it's major attractions in a different way. I would like to share the details about the event it starts at 11pm on saturday from Colaba and ends the other day at 4 in the Morning. People who would like to join in for the event can do so by booking it from their Website. Now coming to my experience, we were a bunch of girls who went to the event as we wanted to see the nightlife of mumbai. Earlier our parents were skeptical to let us go out at night but they did allow us and let me tell you guys the event leader made us feel safe throughout the event. We had common names, such a coincidence haha. Jahnvi did exceptionally good on her role, her passion for her work and dedication is really commendable. She and Nitesh from Mischief Treks team managed the entire event well. The event leds were friendly, calm, approachable and helped us to gel up with everyone easily , this made the entire event experience way better. The timing was perfect, event started according to the itinerary and ended on the perfect time. We got to hear alot of stories from the leads. They were really careful about the safety and security of each individual and gave us a safety and instruction briefing before we started the tour. Once everyone reached we got our Cycles. The cycles too were in extremely good conditions. We started from Colaba around 11:30 and covered places mentioned in their itinerary, like Nariman point, Marine Lines, Girgaon Chowpatty, Hanging Garden, CSMT, Flora Fountain, Asiatic Library, Gateway of India and Taj Hotel. The locations mentioned were covered within time paying proper attention to good amount of break for people to rest. We had some amazing bunch of people with us. We got to know different like minded people on the event, made few new friends, learnt about people and their experiences from different walks of life. They were also particular about small batch size for safety reasons, I loved this idea and many times organisers end up taking 50-100 people on an event and small batch size is a major contributor for good experience. I'll sum up this review by saying that if you are someone who wishes to experience night life of mumbai whether you are new to mumbai, traveling here for work, or stay in mumbai since long this event is something which you should definitely try. It's worth the time and money invested. Kudos to the Mischief Trek Team for arranging such events. I got to know on the tour that they specialise into treks, camping and tours too and after my NIght cycling experience with them I'm surely looking forward to doing many more events with them. Colaba is situated at the Southern part of Mumbai, a diverse neighborhood, filled with busy markets, historic monuments, interesting art galleries and educational institute. The famous Gateway of India and Taj Mahal Hotel are located here. The place houses several cafes including Cafe Royal and Leopold Cafe, numerous restaurants from high end to street food, to name a few, Bademiya and Bagdadi restaurants are two known economy eateries, as well as number of modern pubs and clubs. The southern tip is occupied by a military cantonment, including the large Navy Nagar built on reclaimed land. In the midst of Navy Nagar lies the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), one of India's leading scientific institutions. Colaba is also famous for high-end shopping and boutiques to street shopping, including Colaba Causeway. Colaba also houses major art galleries and museums in and around this area and Ragal Cinema, Mani Bhavan etc. To summarize, Colaba is a busy neighborhood offering everything.

Colaba is one place where you can spend a day. Be it shopping, sight seeing , restaurant hopping or a mix of all these(which is usually do) , be it anything! You can spend an entire day roaming around this place. When I visited Colaba in 2013(college time), we visited every single shop in the Colaba market looking out for the best of the best available here. Frankly speaking, I got some best stuff at best rates(even at Rs 50) which I still use. If you have time to go through the shops and bargain with the shopkeepers, then Colaba market is one place you shouldn't miss in your shopping list. Second time we visited this place, we did some sight seeing and tried to make some memories. You can enjoy the best sights of Taj Mumbai and Gateway of India in Colaba. (I recommend going here in the morning to get the best experience because it becomes too crowded in the evening ). Coming to food, we have been to Leopold's cafe(yum food + the popularity of being attacked by terrorists in 2008 makes it a must visit place) and Delhi Durbar which servers some average Mughalai and North Indian stuff(the interiors are done like a typical Indian restaurant). Altogether, Colaba is one of the best places in Mumbai to spend a day with friends, be it walking through the streets or getting some food !! It gives a pleasant experience for tourists. On the way back to the hotel, we spent few hours in Marine Drive, Mumbai in the evening as well which again adds up to the experience!

This place has so much to offer. Amazing food options, I loved a small time restaurant called Baghdadi. Then there are so many nice cafés with good European dining options. Amazing architecture all around. Walk around in the neighborhood in the evening. Friendly people everywhere.

Hi guys. I’m thinking of staying at the Trident Narima Point or the 4 seasons. Is It walkable to Coloba. I’d like to walk if possible to see the local streets on the way. Thanks

Stay at Trident, Nariman Point. Walk to Colaba along Madame Cama Road or through the Nariman Point Business District. See the Vidhan Sabha building, the state's legislative council, proceed along Band Stand, no bands perform here though. Take a diversion to the left along the Institute of Science, the Courts, the University of Mumbai, the Rajabai Tower all built by the British, lovely architecture, return to Regal, visit the Gateway of India, walk along the sea face, return along Colaba Causeway...A brisk walk covering all the above is doable in 30 mins but if you have the time & inclination, it is good for 3-4 hrs including several photo stops & purchase of souvenirs etc including a lot of bargaining.

You should ask your hotel, I didn’t shop much, I found I can get a better deal in USA. Everything was poor quality and tailoring, they want to charge a lot for junk. Good luck. We purchased items to find out later it was all fake. Be careful of what you buy.

While there are a few shops adjacent to regal theatre, my suggestion would be to buy “tailor made” leather jackets from Dharavi! This is the best option if you are really keen, want value for money(of course these are not branded jackets) and most importantly, have time!

You can just pay for a pre pay taxi at arrivals. There is a payment desk and it's a set price so you don't have to haggle! You can have AC or non AC. It may be very slightly more than the usual black and yellow cab but the set price and ease makes it worth it
