My family and myself went on our first EVER wildlife trip in India, to Pench National Park in December 2022– it was well curated by Varun and he arranged a fantastic local guide for us named Subhash. His ground level knowledge of the wildlife and culture was an eye opening experience for us. The accommodation selected was great value for money, and seemed it was tailor made for a wildlife experience. Would recommend Varun’s expertise always as he is passionate about this field, has good connections, and he made us realise that a safari is more than just looking for the tiger (we did spot a beautiful Tiger on our trip, what a beauty!)

I have not explored the wildlife of India, and this was such a memorable trip for me!
Varun suggested that we plan a trip to Bandhavgarh National Park in order to try and spot the Tiger.
We were in India in December, and it was such a stunning place! Honestly, I would not have minded if I didn’t see the Tiger, I just loved the experience right from the driver who picked us up from the airport…he was locally from Bandhavgarh and he had so many stories about the Tigers and wildlife of the area that our minds could already picture what lay ahead.
Varun hooked up our stay in this beautiful picturesque treehouse! It had a lovely cosy charm and it felt as if I was living out a childhood fantasy here.
The silence of the night and the freshness of the air was amazing and something to cherish. The staff was very friendly and smiling faces greeted us wherever we went.
Our safari guide Sanjay was quite a rockstar with his pony tail and sunglasses, zipping around the Park looking for Tigers for us, but in truth he was a really nice family man, and he invited us to his home one evening for a cup of tea which we gladly accepted! He told us of wonderful stories of his village and of the Tiger and the amazing behaviour he has seen in his lifetime in this field. It was so engaging and interesting.
We had some beautiful beautiful Tiger sightings which I will never ever forget…they are so mesmerizingly good looking, and Sanjay’s expertise about figuring out where the Tiger would emerge drew applause and high five’s from us!
I really felt like I was part of that landscape for a few days and was sad to leave. But my wife and I will definitely come back here and to other wildlife areas of India. Varun has been educating us about this since a long time and we are glad that we finally took up the chance to do a wildlife trip.

I had the privilege of visiting Kanha National Park in February 2023, accompanied by Varun and the founder of Monkey Business Safaris. And frankly it was by far the most extraordinary safari experience I've ever had. While I had seen tigers before, the way we actually sighted 3 tigers on that trip was truly exceptional.
What set this safari apart was Varuns approach – we followed the natural cues of the jungle. He was so patient and knowledgeable. He took the time to share captivating stories about Kanha, its diverse flora and fauna, and the fascinating legends and myths associated with the place.
We quite literally followed tiger pug marks and listened to the calls of monkeys, observed so many birds, and witnessed deer reacting to the tiger's presence. Varun's deep knowledge of the jungle added a layer of understanding and appreciation that I had never encountered before.
Ive been to a number of such wildlife trips but I genuinely have never met anyone who knows the jungle as intimately as Varun does. I look forward to future safaris, not only in the hopes of sighting tigers and leopards but to continue learning about the intricacies and wonders of the forest. This was truly an unforgettable and enlightening adventure. Thanks Varun!

I want to express my sincere appreciation for the incredible experience our children and we had with the outstanding naturalist Varun Mani .Our naturalist was not just knowledgeable but truly passionate about the wildlife and ecosystems of the region.
Our naturalists extensive knowledge of the local flora and fauna was astounding. Every question we had was met with detailed and fascinating answers.
Our naturalist guide had a remarkable ability to connect with our children .They used engaging and child-friendly language to explain complex concepts about nature, which kept the kids captivated and eager to learn.
It was evident that he had a deep understanding of children's curiosity and boundless energy. They patiently answered every question, no matter how repetitive, and encouraged the kids to explore, ask, and discover on their own. He made the experience incredibly interactive. From identifying animal tracks to observing insects up close, encouraged the children to get their hands dirty and truly connect with the natural world, prioritized safety throughout the adventure, ensuring the children were well-equipped and supervised during hikes and activities. This gave us parents peace of mind and allowed the kids to explore with confidence. Beyond teaching facts about the environment, instilled a sense of responsibility and love for nature in our children. They explained the importance of preserving the natural world, leaving a lasting impression on young minds.

Took my first ever wildlife trip upon a recommendation from Varun, who is a good friend who happens to be a Naturalist. I have been following his Instagram posts and I finally was able to plan a trip to Kanha Tiger Reserve. Though a nature lover, I wasn’t really aware of the wildlife of India and I was blown away firstly by the beautfy of Kanha itself. Secondly, the number of species that we saw in the wild was mind-blowing. Finally, the piece de resistance(After many unsuccessful attempts), was spotting the mighty Bengal Tiger in the wild. Just the build up was so amazing, the sounds, the tracks, and the anticipation of seeing this animal in the wild can’t be put into enough words.
Varun encouraged us to do a walking safari as well, and we loved the activity. It was a great way to experience the jungle, and walking in the same areas where the Tiger has walked is such a thrilling and humbling experience! We saw tracks of the Tiger on our pathway, and learned so much about the forest through our local guide Karan.
We also did a village tour and received an insight about the indigenous tribes of the area – their way of life is yet in sync with natures elements and it was interesting to see.
Overall, I felt that it was more than just a Tiger safari, and I loved that we gained an overall holistic understanding of Kanha and its people….would really like to explore more of India’s wildlife.
Varun encouraged us to do a walking safari as well, and we loved the activity. I developed a keen interest in wildlife tourism only because of Varun. I have travelled so far to Ranthambore, Kanha, Kabini, Pench, Satpura and it has nothing been short of spectacular experiences.
He curates your experience with an attention to detail, knowledgeable guides, and puts his best foot forward to witness the best sightings. The arrays of options and recommendations to each safari trip is personalised basis your preferences of sightings from bird watching to big cats and many more.

Varun is a very friendly and knowledgeable naturalist, making the safaris a lot more interactive and fun. We had a 6 year old child with us who loves animals and had a lot of questions since it was his first time in a jungle - Varun very enthusiastically answered all the questions.

We went on a family trip to Kanha in December on a trip organized by Varun. We had left everything up to him — including hotel recommendations, location, and schedule of safaris.
Varun is brilliant at what he does — safe to say you can leave the entire trip in his hands and it will be fantastic. We stayed at the Chitvan Lodge which was extremely well maintained and had a charming quaint vibe with lovely home-style meals. The location was ideal too; we easily managed 2 safaris a day. Varun also recommended an amazing naturalist who was completely at ease in the jungle. We had some brilliant sightings of tigers and a gamut of other local animals.
Highly recommend booking your trip with Varun for a carefree, adventurous stay!

While we stayed at Singhinawa on a consultancy offsite, Varun was our primary host at Singhinawa (resort where he was a naturalist) - Kanha National Park. It was great to meet Varun and he really helped us have a great experience. Whether it was on safari (making sure we didn't miss a sighting or interesting ecological context while we were on safari) or on the resort grounds. From explaining how ants communicate, spottting birds and getting excited about all that the park has to offer, to creating a respectful but exciting tiger sighting - we truly had a great wildlife experience. Highly reccomend him as a guide to view and be in nature.

I've used the services of Varun at monkey business safaris twice. Once for a family trip to Ranthambore and then to a trip with friends to Tadoba. Varun was very professional and really easy to work with unlike other safari agents we have worked with in the past. His passion for the forest and experience as a naturalist further came in handy in his recommendations. I have already referred him to all my family and friends. Would definitely use his services again!
