There can be huge crowds here on holidays. There is a special darshan ticket available for Rs 100. The Mahishasura statue here is famous.

Always feel to visit this place once in a year . Very happy when I see the deity here with all the ornaments. Please visit in early hours of the day to avoid congestion. And also parking.

A short drive from Mysore, this is a lovely temple to visit and also an opportunity for great views over the city. As an extra bonus, you might also see painted cows, monkeys and the odd mongoose. Lovely.

It was really busy and we were time limited so was hard to get a feel for the place. Next to this Sri Chamundeshwari temple is a really old temple which is amazing ( make sure you go inside).

Although not as spectacular as the massive temples of Tamil Nadu, it is still worth a visit, not least for the colourful characters you might meet there. Also good views across Mysore (if it is not too hazy/polluted).

No mundane can be done here in Chamundi temple. You can visit Nanjangudu Srikanteshwara temple for that kind of seva or Harake.
