It was amazing staying near the dam and enjoying the greenery and backwater. The temperature was very hot in the afternoon and by evening it will be cool. For food, we need to travel 8kms for good restaurants if you want to experience mess food it is amazing near dam no need to travel far both veg and non-veg.

We Stayed at Nagerhole for few days and on the way back to bangalore decided to check out the Kabini dam. The entrance was closed for public access, eventhough we saw few people walking and few driving their cars. My wife tried her luck with her communication skills to get an entry but couldnt succeed. So we decided to drive past the dam and go till the bridge where you can get access to the river. There were hardly anyone on the roads. We spent our playing in water and enjoying the nature. I spoke with few locals who told that they are waiting for the government officials to open the dam and during that day the public would have access to it.
If you are driving from Bangalore just to see the dam, please enquire if the dam is open. if not, its not worth the drive.
If you are near this bridge and if you feel hungry, there is a savior who can make amazing spicy masala bhel for you. One of the few persons whom i could spot.

We visited the Kabini lake near the Kabini Lake View Resort. The massive lake is a treat to watch from many points in Kabini. We walked town to touch the water and enjoy the chillness.

It was a drizzling morning. The weather there was beautiful. We were are not allowed to drive on the dam because we were not VIP. In fact we weren't even allowed to walk. But leaving all those things just go there and enjoy the beauty of mother earth. If you are lucky you can also see elephants and other animals coming to the reservoir to drink water.

Nice dam to spent time .
Walking distance is about 2 km from Gate to reach the Dam.
Views on the road is awesome .with one side water and other side bush green.
Dam looks awesome when it has full water and all gates are opened.
Try spending time at evening/night.

This is nice dam. The entry to the vehicles till the dam is blocked. To reach the dam one has to walk around 2 to 3 kms. There was lot breeze flowing, so walking towards the dam from the gate was fun. I had visited the place after lot of rainfall, so the dam was completely filled with water.
