A lesser known Tibetan town in India is Bylakuppe, situated 90 kilometers from Mysore. Tibetan population outside of Dharamsala. It is easily accessible by bus and a journey of two hours followed by a pleasant and picturesque walk for half an hour..

It is at kushal nagar which is around 30 minutes from madikeri towards mysuru. Thw temple is built nicely and the idols are excellently coloured. Its 2nd biggest budhdhist monestary in India. Worth a visit, if you are in that area.

Gold plated Buddha is the attraction. Can be skipped in Madikeri tour plan. Not worth detouring towards this monastry to see buddha.

We really were amused to find so many Tibetans at the other end of the country with such a beautiful monastery in terms of everything. The monks were simple and helpful as they usually are and a very calm prayer hall which is blissful with some remarkable statues. I would suggest the place who is into heritage culture and stuff

The Golden Temple is everything you can imagine it to be. And transports you to temporarily to the monasteries of Sikkim if not time-travels to Tibet itself. Our recent trip was marred by heavy tourists, but in off-season this pace is rather quiet and magical. A must visit.

Famously called as the The Golden Temple, we should visit the premises once to examine the architect and marvels.
