I have been here twice. Better go at around 10.00am when the prayers are going on. You can feel the charm of the gong and the loud echoing sound

Its quite a place , its also called the golden temple. It can get a bit noisy. You can see the monks carry out their daily activity and chanting prayers. The whole village is a tibetan settlement. One can get to taste Tibetan food in an authentic way

This is the first Monastery I have ever visited and was amazed to see the beautiful paintings and serene calmness surrounding the place. This small town is inhabited mostly by Tibetans and is a great tourist spot. The Shrine is also called as Golden Temple. Visit in morning time to avoid crowd and get best pictures.

The Tibetan settlement at Bylekuppe is the second largest Tibetan settlement in India. The Buddhist Monastery / Golden temple, the Buddhist schools, the monks, the language and culture of the people around you all combined will transport you to a different world altogether which is a must-experience for folks not exposed to the East Asian culture. It is a great... More
